Is he worth giving another year or two?

I would take my chances by going in a different direction. You can't justify "the worst defense in NFL History" by saying "give him time". Insane. No first year DC has ever done this bad.

Give him a draft and a HC.

You have to at least give him another year, what good DC would come into a franchise that fired the one before him after one year?

We had the worst statistical year ever by a defense in the history of the NFL. He will certainly be better next year.

ABSOLUTELY.
This guy is one of the best defensive coaches in the country. He has taken the poor players on defense for the Saints and gotten better every week. Give him a playmaking defensive lineman, a new safety and move Jenkins back to Corner and this defense has the potential to be top 10.

We've already improved dramatically as the season has progressed (still bad though). No reason to believe we wont continue to improve when we get guys that fit his system better and SP back.

Well, they've made a lot of improvement from the start of the year..so, that's a sign.

Why would you want to start over when we're already seeing a lot of improvement and he would have a chance to get more guys in that fit his scheme? The offense hasn't been helping as of late, and the special teams totally screwed them last night. The defense has been the reason we were even in the last 3 games. Truth.

its going to be so exciting reading the fluff pieces of how the guys are really "starting to get it now" over the offseason.

These threads are annoying.

Spags hasn't had the opportunity to go out and get his own guys yet but people expected him to come in and be successful with essentially the same talent as last year?

Factoring in the talent level of the defense and all of the distractions for the team I would say Spags has done a decent job.

No.
But I will say that even frisco would look like crap throwing 9 picks in 3 games , for sh!t special team coverages and not one playmaker on defence and a MIA head coach.

Think what you want.

The Saints got good by not asking you to be convinced.

Id say decent is un understatement. Look at the last 3 games, then look at where our defense took the field yesterday and how we almost consistently held them on a short field in the first half.

so we sucked some arse in the second half, but even Ray Charles can see the improvement in this group every week.

Now we just need to find a QB.

To play defensive line and dominate like Brees does at QB.

Payton will be back, which will improve offensive efficiency, which will help the defense

We'll upgrade personnel via FA and the draft

The defense has already shown signs of improvement THIS year

We have 2 coaches for ST? Really? Is ST in the NFL somehow more complicated than other levels? Hell Madden doesnt give you more than 6 plays does it?
