The early episodes were genius. The one with the 'Spanish Mike' and the Asian 'lady' con artist is a classic

The Critic was very good for its time (on par with early simpsons/family guy), but seems to be all but forgotten now.

Green Acres

It would fit on a TV schedule now. Hell, Community owes it a great debt.

NewsRadio too which is another underrated show IMO. It made several references to Green Acres during its run. RIP Phil Hartman.

Fantastic call...great show.. I used to LOVE that show. It's one reason that I actually like Ryan Reynolds (his abs being the other reasons obviously).

My love for SportsNight knows no bounds. But I think it's appropriately rated as a beloved cult show that never found an audience.

I am currently watching episode 2 of SN right now. Watched the Pilot a little while ago.

It's been years since I've seen them, so I figured now was as good a time as ever to watch them again since I just finished The Wire and need a new show to watch.

In Sportsnight's defense, I will say that The Cutman Cometh is the funniest episode of TV I have ever seen. Whenever I'm feeling glum, I watch that episode and laugh my arse off.

I scrolled through this entire thread to see if someone would post this. I own the entire series on DVD.

Great shite, and most definitely underrated.

Frasier. Classic in its rewatchability like the more iconic shows, yet is rarely mentioned in the same breath with them.

I agree. Frasier is by far my favorite show of all time. Andy Griffith being 2nd. But they both get quite a bit of love on this board.

I don't know if they are underrated or not, but here are some shows that seem to have been forgotten to some extent or another, and I never see them on the re-run cable channels either:

Hogan's Heroes
Barney Miller
Taxi
Hill Street Blues
Odd Couple
