Doubt he would want to take a $150,000 pay-cut.

He also got turned down for the job last time in favor of Peveto. He's probably looking for a smaller 1A job now that he's been an assistant on that level. Similar to what Hudspeth did.

What is his history? That he was accused of having sexual relations with a trashy high school girl from Marhsall, TX? The charges were dropped. He was never convicted of anything.

Again, given Dunn's history, I would be concerned about his character. Yes, the charges were dropped, but not without some political intervention. Too much smoke around this boy. Let him stay at Holy Hill. At least just about everything there is age of consent.

"A head football coach should avoid the appearance of impropriety. If he can't then any school hiring him has to accept the risk of all the crap he may bring and publicity that will follow. Holy hill provided him an incredible out and he hasn't gotten even a sniff of interest from another job. What does that tell you?"

THIS! ..... and it is quite telling. NSU doesn't need to run the risk of this embarassment. LC is a private school and can cover things up easier than a public institution. They have a history of doing that quite well by the way.

Why is Dunn so bad

Too many people that I know and respect who played for him at Evangel have nothing positive to say. I don't know him personally, only going on what has been said both publicly and privately by people that know him.

Northwestern is trying to hire DC Jay Thomas who is with Daryl Daye at MSSU in Joplin, Mo. He is a super fine coach and man. Don't know whether they can pull it off or not. Hard job with much money raising requirements. He got his training at LSU as a grad asst.

Sir, in this case I gladly stand corrected.

Not a bad idea if they can pull it off.

All quiet on the front. Maybe something by Sunday or Monday. Burke is pretty methodical in how he goes about searching for folks. It's worked good in most of the school's sports, except football. Hard to find the right person for the money they have available to pay. Pity. They have half way decent facilities for a 1-AA school. They could be what Northeast once was when it was 1-AA (and needs to go back to being).

I think what has scared most coaches away is 2 things:

1. Too much fund raising to do. Thats where NSU will miss Peve. That man could raise some money.

2. They have a players panel that asks the interested coaches questions. When the first thing a coach is asked is, "How long are your practices?", what does that tell you about those players? Also when a player says, "What do you do with (x) in your offense? Because I play (x) and I will only play (x)." What do you say to that?

This seems like the worst idea ever in regards to a coaching search. Why would this be done?

I would have to agree that this is stupid. You think the likes of Nick Saban, Brian Kelly, or Les Miles would put up with this shite? Their answer would be, "My practices will be as long as I think they have to be. Piss me off and I'll run you until you puke!"

Same here. But he was fired from Nicholls State and was on the defensive Northwestern staff for two years under Peveto where they were not very good. He seems well liked, but so was Peveto.

Great person and coach. Played at USM. Did student coaching there. Did grad asst at LSU with Daryl Daye. They hooked up at Nicholls and turned that program around. Had to do all the fund raising. They started a fund set up like TAF. This did not go well with the U. They wanted all the money for Title 9. Left little to none for football. After a couple of years...the well ran dry. He is not a fund raiser. Then, he spent a couple of years at NSU under Peveto. His D Line looked pretty good. Daye left the Buffalo Bills and Buddy Nix for a HC job at MSSU in Joplin. Thomas went with him....they again turned the team around in 1 year and had a winning season. Now, they want to do the same thing at NSU. Daye has not gone, yet. They are a super team, as they divide and conquer. None better in the SLC, for sure.
