I think losing D-west was a very under-rated loss. D-west was often a more consistent scorer than CP3 at times, he steady shot over 50% from the field, would bang aroudn down low and pull down boards, would drop around 20 a game, and always showed up for big games him and Davis woulda been a nice combo at the 4 and 5 spots.

No reason to this post really except fro the fact that i notived D-west was having a very nice year, and with no Eric Gordon we have no go to scorer right now.

He was a good leader too. Lead by example and motivated the squad. There was word of him getting in CP3's face when he was tanking in 10-11.

Great player, but it was time for him to go. No Defense, No Rebounding, Strictly a scorer. My patience was wearing thin with him.

With that being said, he's been playing pretty damn well the last few games for Indy, including rebounding.

The team needed to rebuild. Keeping DWest would have meant not getting Anthony Davis.

I do not miss hearing "And 1".

With that being said, D-West was a great Hornets player and a solid teammate. The future of the Pelicans is bright with AD, Anderson, and gimp Gordon.

It would have been nice to have the power of retrospect and be able to move him before the end of the season for something. But alas...

We did need to rebuild and DWest wouldn't have been in those plans. He was a great Hornet.

I do miss his attitude at times. It was nice seeing him get in Dirk's face. He was also pretty good at playing CP's protector. J Smoove has taken over the henchman role, though.

Given the circumstances, he had to go. But he definitely was a great Hornet.

Will always respect him and he left the right way. That said, it was time to move on and we are in a better position moving forward because of it.

Yeah. Loved West for his skills and toughness.

Anderson is West 2.0. When Gordon comes back healthy and Monty figures out how to play Davis/Anderson together, that is a potent big 3.

Isn't he a free agent this offseason? hornets should go after him because this team needs a leader desperately and look how Captain West helped the Pacers out last year..

Why is every one comparing West and Anderson, when the Davis plays/starts at PF? I love West, but unless Davis packs on 30+lbs there really isn't a spot for him. Davis is the starting PF. Anderson is an awesome bench scorer that plays 3 different spots and should be competing for 6th man of the year. Team has got much bigger needs..
