Contract negations take time? We are in the middle of a football season and he cant talk to anyone until feb. at the earliest anyway so why not wait unitl after week 17 when our GM has some more time on his hands?

Thanks, I thought it fitting with the times. goodell wants to make the game safe so............
The question about the coach is genuine, didn't they have a deal already? Didn't Goodell reverse it? What's so hard about tweaking the old contract, and getting Payton signed up?
Count me in as worried. I don't like anything about our situation. No coach, the ex coach not inked, the QB is not playing well without his buddy, and our team seems like they have no leadership (i can understand why).

We haven't even gotten word that Payton is allowed to negotiate yet. Word came down a week or so ago that the negotiating parameters were being worked out. we don't even know if they've started yet.
