as soons Brees comes out and destroys that horrid Bucs secondary and then ruins the Cowboys season, everyone will be back all over his nut sack. He will retire a Saint and will always be the greatest QB to ever play for the Saints

Amen brother . Drew Brees won us a Superbowl title. Think about Marino , Kelly , Tarkenton, and Warren Moon . All HofF Qbs who never won an NFL title.
About 50% of the NFL organizations have never enjoyed winning a SB . We have so much to be thankful for in having a wonderful leader in Drew. Let's get ready to roll in 2013.

Hopefully Dallas makes the playoffs so Jerrah can't lure SP away.

Drew has playeed poorly this year.
He held out for a bigger contract, knowing the vacancies in the coaching staff. Meanwhile, he found himself several more endorsement deals, while the team was scrambling in camp.
He has likely already played for the contract that he got this offseason, and will (likely)never play at that level again.
He deserves criticism. You cant use the argument that he is the best we have ever had, and should just be thankful. We have never had a QB that we have invested that amount of money in.
I am not trying to hate on the guy, but he has put himself in a position that he deseves criticism.

I wonder how many more times I'm going to have to read this this season.
Not saying you're wrong but I don't see many people claiming Brees is above criticism.
However, the people saying we need to explore other options at quarterback are fricktarded.

Well, that would entail them beating us. I don't want that.
I want to win out and keep Payton.

He lost one of the best play callers, and coaches, in the NFL and he's supposed to just do it all himself? Sean Payton is amazing at setting up plays to work later in the game, namely on third downs, and his record on that down (3rd) speaks for itself. Drew knows he absolutely has to make plays that no one else would ever try to even have a shot this year. He doesn't bitch about it, he goes out there and tries. Criticism is a funny thing to have earned in that way. He's doing the best he can with a team full of pressure on his back.

Agree.
I'm even more tired of seeing these dumbasses somehow trying to tie in his contract with why Brees is playing bad right now.

Exactly.
And you are absolutely right to bash the "Drew Haters". They are idiots.
I give Drew props for being the Greatest Saints Legend of All Time. I can be critical of him and still give him the esteem and respect he deserves.
I could look Drew in the eyes and offer constructive criticism and at the same moment tell him he's the best that the Saints have ever had.
I love the guy. I hope he's part of another SB Champion Saints team, but, I would tell him to his face that the window is closing fast.

I blame Drew for being Drew.
He's trying to do too much because that's who he is. When Payton was taken from us, he assumed an even greater leadership role, and you can tell that it's taking a toll on him.
The irony is that the traits that make him a great QB are what's hurting him right now.
This is actually spot on! Look we all get pissed when Drew makes stupid decisions with the football, and if anyone on here says that they don't they're a frickin liar, but you are right he is taking the whole team on his shoulders.
To most fans, they sit back and say "he has a 100 million dollar contract, he should be able to take the team on his shoulders". To a certain extent this is true, but he can't do everything! The bounty bullshite affected every aspect of this team and destroyed this season (yes frick YOU ROGER GODDELL!!!!), so we have to just chalk this up to a wasted season (and of course hate Roger Goddell).
Like I said, I get pissed at Drew for costing games, but there is still no other QB that I would rather have behind center for the black & gold!
P.S. I don't ever stay mad at Drew for long because I know that no matter how pissed the fans get; I can guarantee you that he is more pissed at himself

I root for the TEAM
I don't root for PLAYERS
so while I love Drew he is hurting the team in some games with his reckless play
If you cannot admit that then you are not a fan of the Saints. You are a fan of one particular player....which is foul foul foul

His contract is for future performance, not past. If you hold out for a large contract, you better be ready to perform to the level you promise. How is that hard to understand?
ETA: The homerism toward the Saints is a little ridiculous, much moreso than with LSU (the college I root for and thus basis of comparison).
Seeing so many claim that he has "put the team on his back" and taken on all the pressure has just gotten out of hand. The dude is forcing throws, much like Romo and Rivers this season. I'm sure you could claim that both of those guys are putting there teams on their backs' as well, but the end results are costly mistakes.
Again, he didn't seem to worried about putting the team on his back during training camp, while negotiating a contract which has made him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That sort of compensation comes with high expectations.

Quote and link me one instance of someone saying he is above criticism. I'll wait.

I'll be shocked if he even acknowledges your post, Breesus.
