I dislike the hate Brees is getting from some people on this board. I rarely ever post on this board but I've been a saints fan since I was 5 and I'm about to be 30. I an tell who has been fans for life and I can tell who hopped on the bandwagon in 2006 by reading this board.

What I want to know is why Brees is getting all of this hate? He's the greatest QB in Saints history an I've seen threads such as trade Brees for Cutler and Marshall. What the frick is that? Some people don't remember the Bobby Herbert, Billy Joe Tolliver, and Billy Joe Hobert eras of Saints football we had to suffer through. Every QB goes through rough stretches in their careers and this is one for Brees. It's not his fault Goodell fricked the organization and had an agenda against the team this year.

All I'm saying is stick by the Our QB through thick and thin because his career will be over before you know it and we'll be back at square one trying to replace a Saints legend when he retires. Appreciate him while he's here.

Most of the hate is by trolls who only show up when the Saints lose.

Drew doesn't play on the kickoff coverage team and he can't stop Colston or Collins from fumbling early on key drives.

He can only do so much and the early mistakes by the rest of the team took us out of the game.

We need a special teams over haul.

I'm hoping we be able to draft a player like CB Jonathan Banks from Miss St. With receivers like Julio Jones, Roddy White, and Vincent Jackson in the NFC south, we'll need a big physical corner who can actually cover next year

the whole team is off this year not just drew. its just with his big contract, he is more of a target to fans. he got most of the credit for all the wins and now he is getting the credit for most of the losses. the real saints fans will still show up next week against tampa. i know i will be there.

I blame Drew for being Drew.

He's trying to do too much because that's who he is. When Payton was taken from us, he assumed an even greater leadership role, and you can tell that it's taking a toll on him.

The irony is that the traits that make him a great QB are what's hurting him right now.

This.

With all the shite we went through this year in the off season, it could have easily been a 3-13 year. Drew actually had the team in a lot of the games early in the season. With a dumpster fire year within the organization, I still can't believe the saints were still in the wild card hunt.

The playoff hopes may be gone, but I still want to beat the frick out of the cowboys. I hate them with a passion.

Well said. Drew's a winner on and off the field. The best player this franchise has ever had. This season has had more adversity for this team than any of us fans can imagine. He's a competitor and I don't doubt he'll come back next season with something to prove, not to any of us fans, but to himself.

I predict an MVP caliber season next year. I'm surprised he doesn't have one yet.

Yeah, 9 picks in 3 games is nothing to worry about.

I'm def not one who's saying get rid of Brees, but we absolutely got to stop putting games in his shoulders anymore. It's absolutely killed us the last 3 games and what has us out of the playoffs now. It's pretty frustrating considering the progress the defense has made from the horrific start they had

I've got a friend that works for the NFL on the Saint's sideline. He has some kind of audio job.

That dude tells me they all listen to him like he is God. When he talks, everybody STFU and listens. When he is telling somebody to do something differen, they listen.

What I'm saying is, he didn't assume this role. This is who he is, and when Payton had to go, it became alot more obvious.

Coach Sean Payton is the brain and soul of this team. Drew Brees is the heart. They dont work separately. And you can see this team very obviously has no brain and no soul right now.

That's my point.

And I think that with Payton gone, he put even more pressure on himself.

Over time, that wears on a guy, and these last three weeks, IMO, show it.

I didn't say the 9 picks wasn't anything to worry about. I said dont bash the QB you were praising just a year ago. Bad games happen. One person Drew is missing as much as Sean Payton is Carl Nicks. It makes me wonder if he wishes he would have taken less money to keep him around now.

I disagree with this one.

Drew's contract had little to do with Nicks departure. Nicks' demands were too high, even if Drew would have taken less money. Remember, we had $8 million in cap space at the start of the season...

Not kicking the damn ball out of bounds on kickoffs last night proved the 'no brain' theory.

Let's let Eli have the ball on our 30 instead of his 40.

I'm not gonna nit pick Vitt. What's the point? But damn, if he would have just done that last night it would have at least put us in the game. frickin D did a great job, all things considered last night.

That's what had Drew's back against the wall. That and fumbles.

Oh ok

Sounds like Nicks just wanted to be the highest paid at his position.
