About how it's even more stupid that NFL players get DWI's considering that the NFL assigns people to each team to provide rides if they are drunk.

He had a point.

It's about personal responsibility and freedom... unless it has to do with a gun. Guns kill people.

I'm fairly sure it's an NFL service that everyone in the league has access to

I know they have access to it, but I heard a report that only 2-3 teams have actually used it.

And obviously, even those making league minimum should be able to afford a cab ride.

I remember having a few drinks and driving home when I had no job and was just a student, but ever since I became fully employed making far less than these guys, I get a cab if I'm that far along drinking. It makes no sense, and makes these situations that much worse. But you can't regulate stupid.

I've got a buddy who has a buddy that owns a towing business. Texas A & M weekend (in Tuscaloosa) my buddy got so drunk that he called his buddy and told him to come tow his truck for him. They come put his truck on the tow bed, he climbs in the cab of his truck and rides home on a tow truck. He gave them a $100 bill and they drop his truck at his house...shite was hilarious. My buddy said he'd rather give his buddy a 100 bucks than pay 10 grand for a DUI.

The 2 to 3 teams that you have heard about is concerning a program that MADD does for all NFL teams. Only Pittsburg and one other team have had MADD come talk to their teams. All of NFL players are given the number to call if they can't drive.
