What about lutcher? They were pretty good last year but didn't they lose one of their better pitchers to LSU?

Tioga is overrated every year. They don't play a great schedule and that's why they're usually a top seed. West Ouachita will surprise a lot of people I think. I don't know much about them, just a friend who's nephew plays and he said they beat St. Louis this summer by 10 and had 2 key players out. Also said they went 27-6 in the summer.

Are you talking about playoff seeding? You do realize the seeds are based of power points so you can't play a poor or weak schedule with some losses and be a top seed.

Jared Poche is still at Lutcher. He is a early LSU signee. They also have Corey Merrill a Tulane signee.

I know it's a small school but Holden (class B) has a kid (junior) that throws reg. 87-88 and has been clocked at 94 mph.. He was invited to Under Armor camp(over 300 kids) in Arizona this summer with kids from all over the country amd was ranked in the top ten ...a really good kid...I hope he gets some looks from major D1 even though it's a small school LINK

They usually get 1 or 2 big wins a year but other than that they're nothing.

Hutchinson can bring it pretty good. Played against him many times.

In 5A it will come down to Barbe, Jesuit, and Catholic High. Lutcher will be pretty good in 4A and Shaw may make a little noise, thier top pitcher JP France is a Tulane signee. 3A, can never go against Parkview.

Maybe Zachary if the LHSAA doesn't decide to railroad them this year.

Are they in some type of trouble or on suspension over something?

I don't think they are any longer. But they got into a fight with Tuerlings Catholic last year. Somehow Tuerlings, who was arguably the aggressor, got away with basically no penalties, but Zachary had to actually file suit to get into the playoffs and still relented by having its head coach suspended for the playoffs.

last year

That's all you had to say, I didn't think that would have any bearing on this season.

I think the coach may have another few games to sit out. Could be wrong.

In 4A, the Shreveport area teams never seem to go far. Minden made the quarters last year, but before that Shreveport hadn't made any noise in 4A at all in about 5 years.

The Monroe teams always hit but seem to struggle on D and haven't had the shutdown pitching that some of the south LA teams have had. When Neville or WO make a run its usually by bashing their way in.

CenLa has Ash and Tioga who are both tough when they cycle up. Ash has a new coach so that will be interesting.

SWLA has St. Louis who was young and good last year, but I don't know how deep their pitching will be. Deridder might be a surprise with everyone back and a very good coach.

Laf-area has TC and STM who are always talented and know how to compete. TC is particularly well coached and play small ball as well as anyone in LA. STM is supposed to have some legit young pitching.

BR-area is St Michael and Lutcher. St Michael had some young talent last year, and Lutcher will have their 2 aces back.

NOLA is Holy Cross, Shaw, Belle Chasse. HC will pitch and play D, but has the offense improved any? They are also well coached. Shaw has a new coach and a big arm. BC got by with smoke and mirrors last year but couldn't go blow for blow with STM when push came to shove in the playoffs.

Northshore 4A ball is usually pretty average, but Lakeshore had a good young team last year so could surprise some this year. Franklinton was pretty weak last year, but is a solid program and should bounce back.

Down on the bayou, Vandy Cath and South Terrebonne should both be improved this year as both return most of their key starters.

HC ace on the mound is only a junior, he pitched a great game vs. Jesuit in Legion ball and got the win (one of only a few games that loaded Jesuit team lost)...as far as offense, they like to play small ball, offense will be there if the kids can get some timely hits. As always under Bat, they will be solid defensively.
