I do believe that A&M will win over OU in the Cotton Bowl, but perhaps the Big 12 isn't all that bad after all. I don't believe A&M ever finished 10-2, ranked in the top 10, and had a Heisman winner while looking up to OU and Texas. This proves that Big 12 teams can play in the SEC. I bring this up because I have heard comments that Big 12 teams would have 3-4 losses if they had to compete in the SEC.

I'm not arguing that the Big 12 is better than the SEC from top to bottom, but they deserve more credit than they get in my opinion.

They didn't have this coaching staff, they had a shitty coaching staff in the Big 12.

Big 12 is WAY behind the SEC.

Terrible argument - a&m has had no one like manziel - probably ever. A&M would have had a legit shot of winning the big12 this year..

Texas A&M shut up the average SEC fan pretty damn well this year...didn't they...QB with conference record in yardage...A&M is dangerous!

So does this coaching staff and Manziel have the same success at Kentucky or Miss State???

I wouldn't say they are WAY behind. Both conferences have 9 teams in bowl games. 1 of the 9 from the SEC isn't Arkansas.

No, they don't have near the talent as Texas A&M does.

Manziel has probably the best OL in the country on top of his skill set, Kentucky has the worst OL in the SEC and MSU is probably below average.

Cool, the Big 12 still sucks.

while i agree that big 12 teams could play in the SEC, a&m's success this season hardly proves anything.

Only ridiculous homers think the Big 12 sucks. It's a strong conference from top to bottom. It's strength is in its depth. And if the Big 12 is not a good conference, you're essentially arguing there is only one good conference.

I wouldn't say the Big12 sucks, but they have virtually no out of conference quality wins. The conference as a whole needs to schedule more decent games against decent OOC competition and win if they want to even have an argument as the second best or even a deep league.

The best OOC wins are Texas over Ole Miss and KSU over Miami. Not exactly something to pound your chest over.

So this only happened because of the move to the SEC?

It is possible for a team to go 6-6 to 10-2 because of coaching changes and players stepping up?

Texas went from 13-1 BCSCG loser to 5-7 the next year while staying in the same Conference and using mostly different players.

The Dallas Cowboys went from 6-6 one year to Super Bowl Champs the next.

TAMU's success this year is not indicative of the BIG12 ability to compete nor the SEC's decline in ability.

A&M was 1-2 vs the top SEC teams on their schedule. West was down this year and they also played Missouri. I can't remember who their other east opponent was besides UF.

so far behind, that with that shitty coaching staff A&M built up a big lead but blew it on a good Arkansas team last year.

They won the Big12 North in 2007, 2008, and 2010. Their last 5 years in the Big 12 Missouri went 48-19 overall

ETA: looks like while I was checking their records everyone else had the same idea

And Pinkel is a good coach.... However it appears Manziel may be that once every few years players that lights it up. Add him with Sumlin who is a really good coach and you have lighting in a bottle. Next year will probably really be the test for both teams in the SEC
