Heisman Trophy and LSU

Lsu only winner obvious but who and what year was only runner up and then same for 3rd place?

Jerry Stovall was the runner up to Terry Baker in '62.

Stovall was hosed for Baker. Alexander candidate twice, highest finish 3rd. TM 4th last Fall.

Of the two most recent Heisman winners, RG3 grew up an LSU fan. Manziel too, and sent LSU film.

I always felt that those who voted didn't want another LSU winner so close together. Jerry did so much, so well, he should have walked away with it.

I was talking to someone last week about how Les basically picked JJ over RG3 (don't know much of the details or how close RG3 was to actually coming to LSU). The other person said, "imagine how good 2011 would've been with RG3." My response was what you said above.

Yes, BC was 3rd in 58! Jerry Stovall runner up in 62! I had a picture of Jerry in my room as a very young Tiger fan that year!
