Gonne miss him! Watched him play a long time, one of the best clutch two strike hitters I ever saw!

I hate this.

Both for my Ranger friends and the fact that this helps the Phils.

Was no longer any room for Face. We also needed a reliever badly.

WTF is Philly doing. Young was one the worst everyday players in major league baseball last year

Young is a bigtime leader in the clubhouse. If Philly was lacking in that department - They won't be anymore. I bet he has a bit of a resurgence with the new scenery.

When all is said and done with - I hope the Rangers find room for him in their organization.

That sucks. I always liked him but at 36 and making 16 million, he was a great candidate to be moved so it's not surprising.

I bet he'll do good there and be someone who can help the Phillies by providing good leadership and helping out when they need him.

Ya we are going to miss him in the clubhouse the most I think. He probably knows the organization better than anyone

I missed it. When did Mike Fontenot go to Tampa Bay?

Damn. Not shocking, but I loved the guy's plate approach.

He did everything the org asked of him and more, including switching positions/roles 3 times. Glad to offload some of that contract though.

To MY.

Here's Joey Matches' thoughts on the trade. Makes some great points.

Absolutely great trade for the Rangers. He was a distraction last year because he sucked so bad and Washington kept rolling him out there to the detriment of the team.

I'm very pleased with the trade.

As far as clubhouse leadership, the Rangers aren't lacking. They have Adrian Beltre and that guy is a big time leader.

Now let's get Grienke and trade for Upton and be done with the offseason.

Yeah get Greinke who has social anxiety and would be similar to AJ with Yankees and Upton who has all the talent but doesn't really care to use it.... Of course Hamilton is coming back as well

Had a nagging thumb injury last year that without a doubt hurt his productivity. When healthy he's an elite player.

Greinke is off the table.....

UPDATE, 8:26 PM: The Rangers “have been told” that Greinke is not signing with them, according to MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan. Which means that an announcement from the Dodgers is probably imminent.

Upton has the talent would probably harness his talent with Beltre to push him. Right now he is a very good player but I wouldn't label him "elite"
