Brass is like settling for a lesser version of the Jazz. It's not terrible but it's not great.

I don't understand this at all. Every name that focuses on Louisiana and New Orleans is going to be convenient. How is Brass not convenient?

I'm not sure how trademarks work... esp. when it comes to something that's not currently in use
but if I'm not mistaken (former NOLA Mayor, future convict) Ray Nagin still owns the trademark for the Brass
that could add to the convenience argument that Benson would have to buy it from Nagin to make it happen (if that is truly what would need to happen for Brass to be the Hornets new name)
