Ok so... This movie is in the making and as a HUGE fan of the video games. I'm really torn about it.

What direction do you think they should take with this movie? Should it be about Shepard and the Reapers? Shepard on another adventure? Or leave Shepard out entirely and go for a new story in the same universe?

I'm sort of leaning towards going at it from a whole new angle and leave shepard out of it... I'm just too worried they will flop what should be an incredibly epic sci-fi flick by trying to hard to be like the game.

Thoughts?

Not needed since no one said the title of game that shall not be named.

The movie will probably be terrible. Pretty much every video game to movie adaptation is.

It depends on how serious Legendary Pictures is about it. To me the universe has one of the more interesting stories to come out of sci-fi in a while.

Edit: Not the reaper story, more so the story of how we advanced our technology by finding protheans and our interactions with the more mature species.

I could see that working.

Here's a long shot... But I hope Christopher Nolan expresses interest in directing.

(Legendary Pictures has done most of Nolan's movies)

I am hopeful that they will get someone like Joss Whedon, Christopher Nolan, or even John Favreau to direct. I'm aftraid that instead it will be some dickhole like Michael Bay

I just started my 3rd full playthrough of all three games. I love this damn game up until the last 15 minutes of the 3rd one.

This needs to be a mini series. They can't make a good enough movie and put everything in it to make it good.

I was actually hoping for a trilogy. Assuming it isn't totally shite.

You can't fit everything in a move dealing with all the cool shite. It would have to be a Pt1 and Pt2 for all 3 games and be 6 movies.

I'm actually hoping they don't remake the games into a movie... I want a fresh story and a fresh protagonist.

It is doomed to failure if they model it after the games.

Without the game, the story alone was one of the best I've ever encountered.

Up until the game which shall not be mentioned. 1 and 2 are some of my favorite games of all time.

We shall never forget his sacrifice. If only we had heeded his warning...

I've got a boner already thinking of who to cast as Miranda.
