almost all of his interceptions were off tipped balls.

Teo plays for ND...the "Ye old media darling". Plus his family passed so he got the sympathy vote. NOT TO MENTION THEY FUNNEL HIM PLAYS! It kinda ticks me off...

So based off those stats... Why isn't Minter going to New York?

If LSU were undefeated, Minter would get more praise

I'm by no means an expert, but I do what I can with what I have to work with. I write the "Catnip" for Tigerhype.com and I was asked to do a comparison piece on Minter and Te'o about a month ago. I hope this will help a little. Minter vs Te'o Also, here's a piece on AFCA All-American team that I did. may help too. AFCA All-American Piece

Minter, Mosley, and Jones are all better than Teo'o. It'd be a joke if he won the Heisman.

Teo winning that many awards is a fricking joke. Maxwel, Nagursky, Butkus, AND Lombardi?
The dude is not even that impressive. We're it not for Notre Dame being undefeated he wouldn't even be going to New York.

These national awards have become popularity contests.

Here's the answer:

Not taking anything away from the guy, he is a great player, no doubt. However, if you're talking stats, Minter should be considered but like another poster already said, it seems to be based off of "popularity or tradition" which is really dumb.

So he has 6 more int's than Minter. That's the only stat vs. Minter he leads in.

The Heisman has turned into a joke.

Has Minter committed to memory the names of all of LSU's walk-ons? Maybe that's it.

Teo is great. I've watched 2.5 of their games. And with that sample sized, I can't say anything bad about his play.

LOL at Teo getting all this attention for such stats against what I would say is average competition.

He virtually had no sacks, hardly any TFL, no forced fumbles and a bunch of interceptions off tip balls and off of Denard Robinson. Most of his tackles were gang related.

As far as Minter goes lets see what he can do in his senior season!

Does anyone have a Minter highlight reel? An admittedly brief search yielded nothing. Except this one, which doesn't flatter him:

Just more of the ND and ESPN media machine creating hype on a player ala Tony Rice.

Exactly! Tell him he's a 3rd rounder now, but a sure 1st rounder next year. It's always better to get drafted after a championship.

Minter will be the more productive NFL linebacker. Teo's stats are inflated with their cupcake competition. I will shed a tear of joy if minter returns next year
