Numbers are sufficient for delisting I have been told. Best case scenario, without opposition , it would be 3-5 years before they were hunted. However, with opposition, which there will likely be, who knows how long it will be tied up in court. They want good numbers, genetic diversity and co-mingling between north and south before de listing

there will be opposition.... it is lined up and ready.....unfortunately...

only one other animal made the endangered list to be hunted again...

algilators...

For the record infidel, I don't think I mentioned any scientific process. I'm giving anecdotal evidence like others in this thread are. I stated a set of facts and gave supporting evidence from my situation. I won't rehash it here so if you really care, you can re read. I would be having a crappy deer season without bear, they just add an extra aggrevation factor to It.

I didn't know there were so many butthurt bear lovers on the board. Bear don't have any natural predators in LA and they will only explode in the neat future and become more of a nuisance.

In not sure. Can you kill one without being fined $50000 and put underneath the jail?

Don't like redneck idiots that think since they don't like bears "tarin up mah corn feeders!" that no one in Louisiana needs em.

glad I poked my head in here!

What about Mississippi Mr. Selleck? natural predators there? reading the MS dept of wildlife website it looks like we used to have 40 bears total in the whole state and they say that has doubled. my complete uneducated guess would be they are way off and we have several hundred now. Would be really cool to see one, not too worried about them "scaring off deer"

Neither do bald eagles. Let's shoot them too.

I assume since you can type, you can also read and see that I never said because they tear up a feeder, we need to extinct them again. I said they are a nuisance , and nothing kills them except cars and dummies with guns.

Don't know about Mississippi mr 13. Once again, if anyone cares to read, I said bears are new to my honey hole and now I'm seeing zero deer. Other factors are in play, but bears are the most recent. I don't want to kill them all illegally, but I will be glad when they are de listed and the population can be at least maintained. Bear tear shite up, it's a fact. I don't want them tearing my shite up, fact as well. Short term, they don't appear to be doing my deer herd any favors, fact. As states earlier, I wish they would all go to your stand so you can see all you want.

So, other factors are in play but you are blaming bears.

Anyone have pics of a 150lb black bear running down a 150lb deer?

Maybe the deer have just got wary of your stand.

Most outdoorsmen appreciate nature for what it is, and enjoy seeing bears in the woods. Sometimes hunting is more than killing something, it's enjoying nature. You can have both.

Do you wonder why everyone is coming down on you? Its because of what you "said". Quit telling us to read what you wrote because we obviously did.
