Is increasing your chances of keeping a single recruit, or a single recruiting class together worth retaining holdovers from an inept staff?

Just seems like small picture thinking to me.

Hypothetically, if Saban was in Malzhan's shoes, do you think he would keep Trooper around solely because it could help Auburn sign a 5-star that could be a complete bust?

To each his own.

I've got a buddy who went to AU. I used to go hang with him and his brother like every other weekend while they were in school there. I loved the place, but just not an AU guy. I'm a third generation Bama guy. I think you know I don't "hate" AU. I'm not a "bammer".

That AU friend bet me $100 that Trooper would be retained by AU so I reached out to a coach who knows both Gus and Trooper and asked, "Gus gonna keep Troop". The response back? "F*ck no"

He could be wrong, but he said it would shock him. He thought the only one with a shot was Thig.

doesn't he have an open offer w/ the Dallas Cowboys?

Pros don't need to be recruited. Recruiting is literally the only thing Trooper is good at. Why the frick would an NFL team want him?

That guy is poison.

I know y'all don't like to believe this but he's a pretty good WR coach too. Not just a recruiter.

About to be 2 that I can think of. I don't see why that matters though. To be a NFL WR you have to be a certain size and have be a certain speed. Trooper can't teach either of those. All I care about is how the WR produce in college.

Darvin Adams-Really Improved
Terrell Zachary-Really Improved
Kodi Burns-converted from QB to WR and was pretty productive
Emory Blake-One of the best recievers Auburn has had. Produced without QBs.
Sammie Coates-Looks pretty good in his FR year. Not very highly recruited.

Trooper has done a lot with a little.

Hard to rewrite the record books with our QB's.

I don't care if we keep Troop or not, but he's a good enough WR coach especially with the recruiting he does. Tzach, Darvin Adams, Kodi Burns, Emory Blake, all good receivers under him.

So you pick one guy that sucks and that makes him a bad WR coach? I didn't say he was the greatest WR coach in the world, I just said he's pretty good. I know you just brought this up because you're still butthurt over him though. I don't know why though. That dude sucked.

no he isn't.
He only manages to have one decent WR a year. The WR's this year , save Blake, who is a great player were trash.

Is southern looking for a head coach? That is were trooper should be the head coach. He would be the perfect fit and his recruiting will help Southern. He could bring Foster too.

2009 and 2010 We had Darvin Adams, Terrell Zachary, and Kodi Burns. 2011 and 2012 we had White Cam and Mocha Cam at QB, How do you expect to get anybody the ball with those two? Despite that Blake was pretty good and Coates looks like he's got some potential. Y'all just refuse to take your blinders off because he kills it on the recruiting trail.
