with the average IQ of the general public, most of them would be bored to death with this movie. No car chases, people getting blasted, boobs flashing everywhere and the lack of language with the "f" word in every sentence, they must have felt cheated they shelled out 8 bucks for this.

Well, the 30+ demographic was all over this movie... as to be expected.

Lincoln is hot right now as well... Bill O'Reilly's book, etc.

In name only. O'Reilly lends his name and a book is printed and sells to the drones.

Not to mention the fact that history buffs are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

Haahaa...shot a nerve with some peeps...I like low life movies too..point was that it was a dry kind of movie if you are not a real history fan. These kind of movies tend to not do well at the box office. I'm just surprised this one has had the staying power it has.

DDL could star in Encyclopedia the movie and it'd be a hit

I'm not. I had a guy at work, who I would classify as a moron, tell me that he couldn't wait to go see it.

Probably because of the director name attached to it.
If anyone but Spielberg had directed it, nobody would have given it the time of day.

From Schindler's List to Saving Private Ryan, there is an expectation and people would generally think this is a must see.
