I like him as our QB. If he can get some knowledge and do some foot speed drills, he could make money in the pros. With his first full year under his belt, he will get better. The kid is tough and has a demeanor for a QB that I've never seen before. His football IQ will get better also. He will start realizing that weak side pressure from the D is on his list of things to improve on. It's amazing to me that he has taken 99% of the snaps this year and didn't get dinged up too bad. Did I say he is tough? He ain't scared either. He is slowly impressing me little by little and I just hope his foot speed improves so he can be even better. The sky is the limit for him. I hope he's a millionaire after he leaves LSU even if it is holding a clipboard.

Was your first post an introduction to the OT? If not, you should go ahead and do that.

shite, tom brady looks awkward as shite when he moves and he's an all-time great. He just needs to work on feeling the pocket and hopefully that comes with experience.

He's the best QB in the SEC next year IMO. Might be the best pocket passer in the country

i like mett and with him, we are a pro style offense only. not that that's a bad thing. if we are going to impliment a change of pace offense, we are going to have to change qb's for a series or two. footspeed ain't something that can be changed much.

didn't do anything to impress me

Manziel looked completely lost against LSU, and I think Mett throws a better ball. He'll also be losing the #1 olineman in the country

i was thinking the same thing.

i think to give the OP the benefit of the doubt, he's talking about foot work. which is defitniely something mett can and needs to improve on.

also his pocket awareness/sense rush is average at best. all things that can be worked on.

Who you been watchin' Wilson?

Mett's speed makes Dr. Lou look like gold medalist sprinter.
Also, his internal alarm clock for getting rid of the ball in pocket is on snooze for a whole lot of plays.

Think Mett needs a lot of work to make it in pros. As a fan, hope Krags can get him coached up on the clock deal. Maybe Moffit can help with speed???

He is a big guy and I doubt his foot speed ever improves tremendously while at LSU. Just needs to work on pocket awareness and when to get rid of the ball. He sure is slow tho

I don't think it's just that, I think it's his general pocket awareness. I hope that is the thing he works on the most. When he feels pressure, he doesn't really adjust. He has a sort of slow delivery and that just gets amplified when the pocket starts to collapse

We must be watching a different quarterback each week. Mett has the speed of a hungover snail, has cement shoes on each week, has no pocket awareness, and still makes just as stupid decisions as JJ did. He has a LOT of improving to do before he's 1) highly sought after by any pro team as a first round draft pick or 2) he's the best QB in the S.E.C. Has he made improvements? Absolutely. Hopefully, he'll continue to improve and be the leader of this team in a more commanding and mature way next season. However, I'm not entirely sold on whether or not the LSU staff has the "know how" to develop him into the QB he should be, but that's a thread unto itself

Not sure that can help much.
He should spend some school time with Breezus learning to make rushers look silly with one step.
