Pete Thamel ?@SIPeteThamel: BREAKING: FIU fires Mario Cristobal.
https://twitter.com/SIPeteThamel. I thought he was going to be a good one once he got his players to buy in.

Wow, incredibly stupid. Just another mediocre program that thinks they should be better than they truly should be.

WOW. As one of the leading advocates for Subelt coaches this season, I am shocked. Even after I started a thread to discuss how much his stock has dropped.

Here it is:
Paul Chryst to Wisconsin
Studrawa to Pitt
Cristobal to LSU as OL coach

Defiantly could make someone a great position coach.

There has to be something more to this, right? There should be a war to hire him as an assistant.

Would take it in a heartbeat. This guy is a hell of recruiter too.

Yeah, I would definitely want him here. I don't hate Stud like other people do, but I could see us benefitting from Cristobal being here.

I think Arkansas State might consider him. He lost a lot of talent last year and the Sun Belt was incredibly competitive this year

This. They went to bowl games two years in a row. What more do you want?

Why not? They would finally get someone that would stay longer than a year.

What qualifications would he have to be a HC?

He wouldn't even get an interview.

Same qualifications as Paul Chryst and better qualifications than Mike Haywood.

He was offered the Rutgers job last year, but he turned it down.

Hindsight's 20/20, though...

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Haywood win the MAC? Has Stud ever been a HC?

He went 10-15 with an 8 game swing from year one to year two. He won one year of the two he coached. Then he beat his girlfriend in public and is now working for an oil company.

Regardless of Haywood having been a HC before, Stud is a better candidate, as was Todd Graham who they hired after Haywood let them luck their way out of a bad hire, and Paul Chryst who also had no HC experience.

Mike Haywood was a bad coach and an awful person.
