on tv these days? It's been a long time since I've followed any shows.

I think Sonny Crockett is the second coolest character in tv history. Theo Kojak is the first.

Miami Vice is racist.

Don Johnson rides around in a Ferrari.

Tubbs gets a Cadillac.

I liked the recent Michael Mann remake. That's right, I said it.

My favorite show by far. I absolutely LOVE Miami Vice!

Fav. episodes:

Little Miss Dangerous
The Great McCarthy
Calderone's Return I & II
Definitely Miami
The Fix
Payback
Sons and Lovers
Shadow In the Dark
The ones where Crockett had amnesia and thought he was a drug dealer.

Forgive Us Our Debts

Freefall

Elvis the Alligator, Izzy, such an awesome show.

but Switek drives a van that looks like the Mystery Machine off of Scooby Doo...

but yeah...Crockett got whatever the hell he wanted. His Ferrari Daytona gets blown up so he gets a Testarossa to replace it

Damn birdman I coudnt remember one episode if you held a gun to my head. Although that was one of my most favorite series on tv at the time. Always said I was going to get a Chris craft boat just like that one day but could only muster up a bay boat and chapparral.

Like I said, I LOVE that damn show. I remember watching it when I was in middle school. It came on Friday nights and when I got a bad grade on a test or something, my mom wouldn't let me watch it again until I made better grades. It worked!

Totally know what you mean. I went to a boat show in Houston, I think I was a freshman in high school and they had some Scarabs there. I remember looking at them, the little cabins in them, thinking, "Yeah, I could live in here."

Also, if you look at Tubb's Cadillac, there's a license plate on the front of it and it reads, "Cowboy Cadillac." Huh?

I know, I know, Miami Vice dork. haha

I agree,, the best "cop" drama of all time and it isn't close. the only non-formulaic police drama ever made and the use of music is only rivaled by Friday Night Lights

Never watched The Shield but NYPD Blue wasn't bad. It wasn't Miami Vice but it wasn't bad.

Still love the music in Miami Vice. You forget about songs and then you watch an episode and you hear some song you haven't heard in 30 years.

I forget what episode it's in but there's a cool scene where they have "New Girl Now" from Honeymoon Suite playing in the background.

The playing pool scene in the Great McCarthy where they have "Go Insane" from Lindsay Buckingham playing.

I had every episode on VHS. I need to buy the series on DVD.

Wasn't Like a Hurricane where Sonny gets married and Jans Hammer jams out at the ceremony?

There was a just a coolness about the show. The scenery, the clothers, definitely the music and the cars.

Next to being CEO of Playboy Enterprises, I think being a detective on tv or in film is one of the coolest things you can be in American society

For some reason, I want to say that was One Way Ticket.

I remember Jan Hammer being at the ceremony with his keyboard!

Absolutely. I freaked out when the Daytona blew up.

Loved Long, Long Way To GO by Phil Collins in the show. Think it was in the episode where Tubb's girlfriend or wife was blown up or something and there was a funeral. Cool looking suits.

If Don Johnson dies tomorrow, he's had a great life, for no other reason that he was fortunate enough to play Sonny Crockett.

Couldn't tell you how long I looked for that song. You're right. It's at the very end of Sons and Lovers.

Tubbs is still hooked up with Calderone's daughter and his (Calderone's son) shows up and kills his sister because of Tubbs being with her. I want to say she was pregnant too. Talk about messed up.

Was this on tv tonight? I love watching the episodes, obviously.

Also, really liked NYPD blue when they brought in that cute brunette. Liked Mark Paul Gosselar's(sp) character and liked it when Esai Morales joined the show. He was cool.

Ahhh. You can find that Great McCarthy one on there, I've looked for it but I think it's in Russian for some reason.

Look up Shadow in the Dark. That's an awesome episode. There's a serial killer and Crockett about loses his mind trying to find the guy. I think it was in the later episodes, when the Testarossa was there.

The shield was my second favorite cop show of all time. But oh the glorious 80's. Had chips, tj hooker, magnum pi, hunter, silk stalking but it was Miami vice that made me want to Join police dept and get on vice squad. Of course nothing like that here compared to Miami.

Yeah, he got off on being a dick. He would have been a lot cooler if he would have been better looking.
