Must have got a good deal. I went all the way down to south Florida to get mine brand new, which was a mistake. Of course they were harder to find used a year old with low hours when I got mine as well cause the economy wasn't in as bad a shape. Always threaten my wife and tell her I am going to sell it to buy a yellowfin. But looked them up the other day and they are selling for damn near 90k now. I could have boought one direct from the factory at the fort Lauderdale boat show in 09 for 65k. I am still kicking myself for not ordering one. Those are my dream boats btw. But do.love my shearwater though

We were about to pull the trigger on a brand new Blackjack w/ a 250 SHO, but we couldn't pass up the deal we got on the shearwater.

Geaux smoke,

You should try around Seabrook. Think you could launch a kayak around there pretty easy. That is if you are going after specks.

I hear they're catching in the marshes surrounding Carr Dr. in Slidell. That's a real easy area to fish in a yak.

I took my dad last Sunday and we caught 40 nice trout (15-19") on plastics at one spot in Lake Borgne. It's nice when the whole trip costs a gallon of gas.

Yep, we were at The Rocks (the old spot), but that whole shoreline with all the new mud-bars/rock baskets has been producing for my neighbors.

On colder mornings I've also caught them at the dropoffs on the ICWW "cutoff", and in the ICWW on near shell banks.

Trout only; I cant buy a red lately.

Thanks guys. If anyone wants to bring a really cool 28 yr old fishing, I'll buy the gas, bait, beer, everything. Some here on the OB can vouch for me.
