How would the constitution be protected without the Military? You guys are killing me. Seriously? Do you think that we would be the Nation that we are without our Military? China, Russia, Germany, Etc.. would let us keep our little ole constitution with no Military. You guys have to be trolling me because no one is this stupid.

at all those people thinking Buster was the kid from Old Navy.

I respect the military, but anyone who's had a shitty job has had to deal with that one guy who takes it a little too far. Just as the Rant is not a great way to see what the average Tiger fan is, the nutters are not the usual vet. I'd like to see how he approached the manager before I make some sort of judgement call here. I had a guy scream at me that I didn't care about the military because I didn't give him free lemonade before.

that's the thing that I thought of after reading the article. I really can't see a man calmly saying "that kid isn't wearing the uniform correctly, etc" and then the store tells him to get out and he's forever banned from Old Navy.

If that truly was the case then frick that store. Old Navy smells weird anyway.

And you do not want the Marine famlies blowing up your Facebook. Jefferson's FB was full on loco, pics of burned people- all kinds of stuff.

We're talking about now, unless you know someone who was alive in the 18th century.

How does our military defend out constitution? Stop dancing around the question or admit you cannot answer it

So you think the troops keep potential invaders out? While certainly a deterrence in your ridiculous scenario, I'm going to guess nuclear weapons attached to ICBMs probably puts a little more scare into them.

I don't know how to send a pm or if I even can, I'm not being a prick. You're the one calling me names and despite you're tireless defense of the troops, basically shite on my service record. So gfy, mulder out.

guy gets into a fight with a proven stalker, total asshat kid who just finished boot camp, never even having left the US. All the sudden he's some anti Marine killing machine. It was ridiculous. That's why you don't want them having any excuse to do all that.

So you think that is all we need? Nukes? Everyone knows what will happen if nukes are used. What was my ridiculous scenario? According to you, we don't need a military to protect our constitution, yet you are calling me ridiculous?

Of course we need a military, when did I say otherwise? It just so happens to be a matter of fact that the U.S. military isn't in Iraq and Afghanistan, Vietnam or Korea defending our freedom. They were there fighting for other people's freedom sure, but lets not pretend there weren't ulterior motives.

And yes, if you don't think nuclear weapons are the number one deterrence to this hypothetical (and youre the one talking about being invaded) foreign invasion, I cannot help you.

We aren't in Vietnam but we are defending the freedom of the other Countries. Something that you take for granted. God forbid you not being able to express your opinion.

I honestly give up. You win, congrats.

Our military is a tool that the country uses to achieve a number of necessary and vital goals, none of them being "protecting the constitution" even though that is, admittedly, their stated purpose.

I'm not trying to win anything. Your reaction, and a couple of others, sparked my interest. I wanted to offer an alternative opinion, and I tried (and failed) to do it with a little humor. I have not once called you a name (and I did not know you were an admin) and I am, admittedly, po'd you took a shite on my service record while bashing a job I worked while attending college.

ETA: to your PM, I know, otherwise I would have abandoned ship immediately after getting a PM. I'm not doing another 9 months.

boycotting the entire company because of one dumbass of a manager is just stupid. I highly doubt it is in the Old Navy handbook to disrespect vets..

If the military protects the USC, where were they when laws like the Patriot Act were passed? What freedoms are they currently protecting by killing people who pose less threat to me than a cop? Soldiers can't protect your freedom, but they can be used to help take them away. Not one soldier is fighting for freedom, sure they are brainwashed to think that but they are not. They fight for contracts, land, minerals, oil, etc. Instead of kings, dictators, etc calling the shots it corporate financed and bought politicians. Very few wars have ever been about a nation's safety, just its potential loss/gain.

I don't but after 4 years of wearing the uniforms, I think it's stupid. Who would want to wear that cheap shite as a fashion statement?

Ugh, now I'm going to have that nightmare where they mistakenly put me on a 13 month deployment not knowing I'm a civilian.

I am going with this guy was a huge pain in the frickin arse and made a huge scene, thus getting banned from the store.

Old Navy can't do shite about what kinds of clothes kids wear in their store. However, since this was an employee, the condition of employment requires them to wear unbranded or Old Navy brand clothing while on the clock. The military jacket would be unbranded and thus qualify with their policy. The stolen valor act is unconstitutional and wearing that shite isn't illegal, it is just in really bad form to do it.

The old man should of beat the kids arse outside of the store and went to jail if he felt this strongly about it, instead of being gay and making it about Old Navy instead of the real issue.
