I can't remember - I think it had to do with the o-line staying still when the d-line jumped offsides.

They were taught that if the defense jumped offsides, to stay there so they didn't get a penalty added to it.

The defense didn't jump offsides on that one though, so they looked even more foolish.

In fairness, this might have been stolen from somebody else's playbook but..

FSU's OL coach Rick Trickett used to hold the same position under RichRod at WVU (and was a key player in his success). Every now and then they would run this play-except with the entire line holding still-it looked like some of the guys in this were in between worlds and not selling it. The few times I saw it run it would usually result in a big pay since the entire D was in wtf mode while a slot receiver scampered free behind them.

I don't know what the down and distance was but a lot of spread teams run a play they call Rosie. The only lineman with his eyes up and open is the center. The Qb tries to draw the defense off sides if they jump he snaps the ball if they don't jump he either takes 5 yard penalty or calls time out. When they jump qb will usually throw something quick or a fade. It is a way to pick up 5 yards and get a free play. The one lineman had his eyes closed and I think he really is death.
