How exactly do you need 1.8 million dollars to start a fantasy football site?

Are you getting a fricking super bowl ad?

He wants to develop some kind of video game or video game system specifically for fantasy sports if i had to guess. No other way to justify that kind of money. Even then it isnt justifiable.

Exactly what I thought

Unless you have literally no technical ability and need to hire everything, you should be able to get started with 100k

NDA is standard operating procedure. you ever encounter someone that won't sign one to protect themselves and you, karate chop them in the throat.

Investors don't want you talking either. Word gets out what they're looking at, competing investors could blow a deal up.

Most of the money is for a grand prize. 1 million bucks to one person, the champion at the end of the season. The rest is for production costs and a very focused ad campaign. $300K on ads.

So the business model is a lottery in a football wrapping?

Sink in people not for the sake of the idea itself, but the persuit of the prize?

BRILLIANT!

Thanks, I think that's for smaller projects, but I appreciate it.

How do you find an investor for a project without giving them too much information so that your idea can be stolen? It's hard to get someone to sign a NDA before you tell them what you have in mind.

A friend and I have (I swear) a very sure way to make hundreds of millions very quickly. We need 1.8 million to make it happen fast(3 months) and about 1.2 to make it happen in 6 months.

$20 to 40 million 3 months after the 1.8 mil. would be committed. Then double that next year. The investor would get 40%. That is a little low, but the return would be in 3 months, so that's the trade off

But, if you believe in the power of FF, then you know it's a safe investment.

There hundreds of magazines that are dedicated to this. Tons of websites. ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, and NFL have the market cornered as far as services to run your league. Not sure what ground breaking idea you have that the boys with those corporations haven't already thought of.

I'm all for entrepreneurial spirit and you should definitely go after this but you don't need the money for a grand prize.

If your idea hinges on that, its not a good start.

I can't tell you all the ways ya'll are wrong. You don't understand the format of the contest. It's not lottery. Not cbs, espn, yahoo.. anybody! Nobody gives away money. There's some weekly contest that does something but not on this scale.

If i were an investor I want to see a prototype of the idea and or storyboards of it.

You have to copyright the idea under intellectual property. You also don't give away too much about how the product or whatever works. Get a plan first. Get a prototype, then pitch it to people at venture capital firms.

Also, you are expecting to grow you money at 4044% annualized rate. WTF... have you discovered a new precious metal that geologists haven't known about and you are planning to dig it out in Dante's Inferno??
