Blackie
Brownie
I called my dog "hey" or "dog" for the first 6 months of his life. When they asked for his name I just gave them mine.

I've been naming my labs characters off
Lonesome Dove. My chocolate lab "Gus" is about to retire and I have a black male puppy named Deets

My lab's name is Caddis no issues. My Uncle has one named Dan. It kinda sounds funny when he's calling it while hunting.

My dogs name is Tank (catahoula). I didnt notice any more trouble for the dog in recognizing a one syllable name more so than my previous dogs Buddy and Bella
