Sure, he isn't getting hit hard right now. But, if he keeps doing this over the next 2-3 seasons, he will get hit hard eventually.

He's already suffered a concussion this year.

Bc NFL teams always put the health of players over winning games.

Coaches tend to have short-term views and are more worried with winning the next week than a 2-3 year outlook.

:lol

I know, right? Mike Shanahan had a record of 11-21 prior to this season. He's currently sitting at 17-27, with a 39% winning % at Washington. Shanahan's job is on the line with RG3. He's going to do whatever it takes to win, and win now.

RGIII is very exciting to watch, and the Skins are more fun than they have been in years, but no way do I see them making a Super Bowl run. The D isn't very good and has had a lot of injuries. And they will be lucky to even make the playoffs. They already have six losses and still have to play a good Ravens team. If they beat Baltimore next week it will be more likely...

The Skins struck gold with RGIII and Alred Morris. His style does worry me b/c of the potential for injury. I think they build on this season and make playoff runs for the next couple of years.

The Washington Redskins will probably not make the playoffs

Last night was a classic "Whats wrong with the Giants?" Game

Shanahans job is not on the line. Especially not now. Ever coach does everything they can to "win now" regardless of their job security

Also I love Alfred Morris but I know Shannahan and his history. You probably wont remember who Alfred Morris was in 3 years.

If the Redskins had stayed healthy on defense, then I'd definitely give them a puncher's chance.

95-98- Rode Terrell Davis
99- Davis injured 4 games in, rides Olandis Gary
00- Davis injured 5 games in, rides Mike Anderson
01- Davis injured 8 games in (still led team in rushing), rides Anderson

So until this point, Shannahan is going to ride TD from at least 95-01, maybe longer if the dude doesn't blow out his knees.

02- Davis retires, rides Portis (rookie)
03- Portis
04- Portis traded for Champ Bailey, Rueben Droughns runs for 1,200 (start of rotating RBs)

Portis goes for 1,500+ his first two seasons and most certainly would have been Shannahan's bell cow if he stayed.

05- Mike Anderson
06- Tatum Bell,
07- Selvin Young, Travis Henry
08- Hillis, Pittman

Point is, Shannahan rides his RBs. Morris is a Shannahan RB. For a 5 year stretch, he was forced to rotate a bunch of different guys. His RB juggling is a perpetuated myth.

No chance. Defense is nowhere near Super Bowl level

Once RGIII is a few years into the league you'll see a lot less running bc they'd rather him be passing, he's ridiculously accurate.

this, the only reasons the skins are running him is to get him used to the speed of the NFL game and the fact he has no legit WR threat.

Couple years from now this wont be the case at all.

its not his style. It what the skins are using to get him used to the NFL game. At Baylor he was dropping back and slinging it and running when protection broke down.

yes i did, and i watch every skins game

His rushing attempts from his freshman year went down while his pass attempts went up. esp during his JR year. He is a drop back guy that just happens to have world class speed.

o yea Morris will be our go to back for no more than 4 years. Shanny will ride him into the ground.

You don't rush the ball 173, 149, and 179 times on "broken plays". Baylor had a ton of designed runs for him.

The guy is a good QB for who he is. I don't see a problem allowing him to continue to play like he is besides the injury risk.

Has someone in the Skins organization said that they are going to scale back his running to make him more of a passer, or is that your speculation?

Yea basically saying as he grows and learns the NFL game the designed runs will go down.
