IMAX and the 48FPS aren't the same thing? Right.

No, they are not. There aren't too many theaters out there that have the technology to do a film at 48FPS. I appreciate Peter Jackson for trying to do something novel but doing a film at 48FPS was not a good idea.

meh. Only like 5 percent of the country will watch it in 48FPS. I will most likely see it in IMAX or just watch in lafayette and celebrate at Corner bar after

Well, they're splitting into 3 movies for absolutely no reason.
This bewildered me also. I easily saw a two parter but not a trilogy.

Just bought my tix at Cinebistro here in ATL, may order a steak and a nice red wine to go with my Hobbit viewing experience.

Damn! I've never been to a theatre that does all that. Is that IMAX?
I'm kind of jealous.

It is truly incredible and has forever changed how I see a movie. The greatest part is you buy the tickets online and get to reserve your spots in the theatre, every seat is assigned.

Food is great, full bar, bigger more comfortable seats, no one under 21 allowed after 6PM, it is unreal.

No IMAX I believe, I just know it is 3D.

Newest rotten review. Seriously these people are huge slapdicks.

“The Hobbit” would have truly been a technical marvel in 24fps, but sadly the 48fps effect doesn’t work often enough.

I understand PJ deserves slack about the 48FPS if no one is enjoying it. But why review something that only 5% of your viewers are going to see. The other 95% or higher will be seeing it in 24FPS. I want a review of the movie. He says it would have been a marvel in 24FPS so why does he give the actual movie a bad review.

The Hobbit and LOTR are pretty accessible to everyone. I don't consider it "high" fantasy or whatever they call it.

LOTR basically invented high fantasy, more or less with slight variation. The Hobbit is a book for children, and it is also by far Tolkien's best work.

"It's hard to overstate the degree to which the 48fps format interfered with my ability to get lost in this movie's story."

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT DANA STEVENS, TOP NOTCH WORK

ETA frustrating, I wish I cared enough to create an account and troll these idiots.
