Face the facts, Te'o will win. Three reasons:

1. Only one on an undefeated team
2. Notre Dame
3. Only threat is a freshman

Tebow was the first sophomore to win the award and did so on an 9-3 team. (Eventually 9-4)

7 picks > 7 forced fumbles IMO, unless they were all recovered by the D.

To even be in the discussion as a defensive player you have to either score or generate a lot of turnovers. I've got no problem with T'eo being there, especially in such a weak year.

JFF just had the best season any QB in SEC history has ever had, and a top-5 QB season of all time

Agree. I should have said that the field overall is weak. Outside of him there really hasn't been anyone that was incredibly impressive.

Comparing LB stats is a fruitless mindnumbing exercise in futility.

For starters, teams with great defenses (ND Top 2 in the country) are not going to be on the field long; teams with great defenses also have other solid defenders making tackles around them.

Additionally, if your team is on offense a lot (ND #11 in Time of Possession) you have even less opportunities on defense to make plays.

Manti Teo is not a Heisman candidate or a Top 10 projected draft pick for his on-field numbers...and for those that get that, props to them.

So what you are saying is that Manziel racked up all of his stats against non BCS teams or losing BCS teams?

So sacks and TFL mean nothing as a LB? K cool.

Why THIS guy is not there is beyond me. Yes playing for a 7-5 team doesn't help but still the guy is wicked good.

I will put it this way. A & M is barely a .500 team without Johnny footrball. ND would have still won 10 games without Tai'

Am I slow or did you make two arguments in favor of T'eo before stating that he wasn't a Heisman candidate?

Some dude in the MAC has 100+ tackles this season. Do you know his name?

Neither do I.

I hate USCw, but this guy has to be a finalist. I think he should be up there with JFF for the heisman frontrunners
