Live Caleb Porter Press Conference

Q: Does Kris Boyd fit into your system?

Porter: Kris Boyd is contracted to the Portland Timbers.

Long Pause

Some other stuff

Paraphrase: No he doesn't.

"It will be very difficult for Kris Boyd to offer what I'm looking for in that position." - Caleb Porter
Also, "I prefer a bit more pacey and athletic(striker)."

Kris boyd and Steve Smith are both training with rangers and the captain Lee McCulloch wants them signed.

From Portland GM Gavin Wilkinson
Caleb is at 10:30AM PST today; our new DP will be announced later this week; Trencito also will be completed in 24 hrs; trade as well...

Whatever happened to that "How to pick an MLS team" article? I still haven't been able to decide and I am dedicated to watching the upcoming season.

I have it saved on my laptop. I'll put it in Google Docs and post a link.

Info will be dated, though.

Appreciate it! It will at least help me get an idea of what I'm looking for.

Here it is. A couple of things:

1. I originally wrote this to help myself find a team, hence the first person nonsense.

2. I didn't do the Canadian teams. I can't remember why, I just didn't.

Hope this helps.

I always found mysel rooting for DCU, guess I'm gonna roll with them next year and see if my interest in them continues. I really enjoyed just watching all the matches last year.

I've narrowed it to:

D.C. United (I like the history/recent struggles)
Portland (awesome kit/fans/newest team)

ETA: Dallas is out.

Yeah Pontius would be a plus for sure. Is there any news on a new stadium yet?

Possibly, but not that I know of. I'm not that committed of a fan yet haha their season while obscure, is great because once European soccer ends I dont have to cry all summer. Do hope NBC sports cranks up the coverage this season though. A game a week is good, but we the people need more.

Yeah I gotcha. I'd love to see 3 games a week. That probably won't happen, but it would be so great.

MLS Live is stupid cheap.

Mine auto-renewed on Monday for $49.99.

I think regular price is $59.99.

$50 is a night or two at the bar, and will provide more MLS than you can watch.

I know. I've tried.

I read about DCU's new DP this morning. Never concidered a team using a DP spot on a loaned player, but I guess it makes sense if his wages are high and it looks like they have the option to buy.

quote:

The 20-year-old striker will join the club on a one-year loan from Brazilian top flight side Bahia as a designated player, the youngest DP currently on the books in MLS.
