Too bad the Cotton Bowl wanted Texas A&M over a higher rated LSU team thAt beat a&m.
There's a precedent with the Cotton Bowl:
In 1969 LSU fielded Cholly Mac's best team, going 9-,losing only to Archie Manning by 3.
The match up was supposed to be against 10-1, no. 1 Texas in the Cotton Bowl.
Late in the game Notre dame ended a self imposed bowl ban and the Cotton took a lower rated 8-1-1 Notre Dame team b/c of higher TV interest.
LSU went to no bowl that year..
The Cotton Bowl did it again....
BTW, what did our AD do to make sure we didn't get lost in the shuffle?

The oxford comma is optional, but thanks for your suggestion.

My daughter works for the cowboys, and as late as 4pm yesterday they were being told that LSU was coming, get ready for the phones to start blowing up. Of course, when they got the word, a couple of months ago, that we would be playing TCU there next year, I had to point out that that game had been on the books for about 5 yrs.

I don't blame the Cotton Bowl for selecting A&M over LSU. Despite its success LSU is not team that causes a great deal of excitement around the country.
