9-1 in 1969 and no bowl

Only lost one game by 3 points! Probably the best Football Team to never go to a bowl!

Mac's best defense and probably his best overall team. Homecoming against Auburn was the first game I ever saw in Tiger Stadium. Could that defense have stopped the wishbone? We'll never know.

Notre Dame and the Cotton Bowl screwed us and I have never forgotten. It is hard to judge teams from different eras but in my opinion, the 1969 team was the best team LSU ever had.
