ok guys im very excited/nervous that for the first time my wife and I are hosting my family for christmas lunch. We traditionally have had a large thanksgiving style lunch at my parents but with my little ones all into santa we thought it would be good for them to come to us.

my question is, what do you recommend that would be semi easy and good for 7 people?

Here's what i was thinking:

Smoke a Ham- how long would this take? if less than 6 hours then im good but my arse aint getting up at 3 or 4am to start a fire.

Turkey Breast- what do yall think? dont think its worth a large whole turkey so i was thinking of throwing a store bought 4-5 lb bone in turkey breast in the smoker with the ham

Homemade Mac and Cheese- thought it would be different

Corn Casserole- same thing as above

Green bean casserole

Dinner Rolls

Pie

Anything else you guys recommend? only thing i could think of is a green of some sort to balance out all the starches. thanks in advance

imo getting a turkey breast is a great idea, you'll have plenty with the ham.

If you're dead set on Green bean casserole google Alton Brown's recipe. It's great, and it's better than the open can, dump in pyrex, recipes from the past.

You could add some green by doing a spring mix salad. Some Cranberries, walnuts, bleu cheese, light balsamic vinegarette- easy and people enjoy

John Legend's Mac and Cheese recipe is legit. Easily found on google

I recommend one of the 20 steakhouses in your head.

Well if you want semi easy, roast a whole smaller turkey and buy an already cooked ham.

I'd buy the ham already cooked to make it easier too. After Thanksgiving I'm burnt out.

We don't do Thanksgiving style foods for Christmas though.

We have given up on doing a ham

It is now Honeybaked spiral sliced, heated for an hour or do in the oven for us.

I know 2/100 cooks can do better than Honeybaked but I wonder if 3/100 isn't stretching the truth
