Off the top of my head I can name 20 steakhouses in Houston or Dallas better

You can name 20 steakhouses in significantly larger cities in a state where beef is largely consumed? Noooooo!

and Papa's Bros in Houston is the best steak house in the city. It's not exactly a chain, but it's apart of a privately owned restaurant group.

III Forks and Del Frisco's > Ruth's

III forks is close.
Del Friscos no way.
Ate there last year night before Oregon-LSU game and was not impressed

Btw, III forks and del Friscos are both chains as well.
Lol

Also zagat disagrees with you:

Ruths Chris
17840 Dallas Parkway, Dallas
Zagat: 26 / 30111 reviews $$$$
III Forks Steakhouse
17776 Dallas Parkway, Dallas
Zagat: 24 / 30253 reviews $$$$

The Ruth's here is not run by corporate. It's a franchise. One of the only that cut their meat in house and they have the freedom to do everything as they want without corporate's say.

Osso Bucco ravioli.

This. Unlike some, the BR location doesn't have this on the menu but they do offer it as a special from time to time and it's insanely good.

Homemade potato chips with ranch are a nice starter. I suggest the cowboy ribeye. If you like shrimp, they have a good BBQ shrimp served with garlic mashed potatoes. Now I want a steak!

I don't like the fact that the BR location doesn't have the white chocolate banana cream pie

Meh, I usually order port or something for my dessert.

I have a separate stomach just for desserts. I must have dessert. Port ain't gonna cut it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm the same way but there isn't a dessert at Ruth's Chris in BR that compels me to order it. Sometimes I'll get the berries and cream but it's all pretty basic.

They have a girl in the kitchen that occasionally makes a doberge cake that is great.

My favorite items are the ribeye, barbecue shrimp, baked potato, and creme brule.

Tell someone that the osso bucco ravioli needs to be a constant menu item at the BR location.

That is a great dish, we run it for a few months at a time. I'll ask my boss why it isn't on the menu.

Different strokes for different folks. The creme brule is pretty awesome.

Since you work there can you tell me if the soups all come pre-made in a plastic bag. Read this on a reddit thread. Not trying to say anything bad about Ruth Chris cause I love the soups there, but just wondering.

Also, the veal osso buco should definitely be on the permanent menu.

Well the turtle soup is great regardless of who makes it and it's not on all the Ruth Chris menus.
