You know, something easily portioned or warmed up, but tastes good bc you put some effort and love into it.
Do you bring it already frozen or portioned?

Avoid gassy foods.
Soups, stews, roast n rice n gravy. Actually, salmon is good for back aches.

Sounds like your friend is dealing with a kidney infection, not a lot of shits and giggles with one of those. Your back feels like someone is beating it with a 2x4.

That really depends on what you're bringing and if it's going to go bad before they eat it all as far as freezing. Whether you need to portion is, depends on how much that person can do to prepare the meal. If you bring a soup, you could bring it in plastic bowls for servings so they can just take that out and heat it up.
What kind of foods does this perso like and is there someone to help him or her warm it up etc...?
Spaghetti with meat sauce is easy to reheat in the microwave if you're looking for something like that.

Chicken and rice....boil the the chicken, cook the rice with the chicken stock, put the chicken back back in with the rice, cover and deliver. That stuff will grow back a limb.
