Does anyone have an update on The head coach of WM? I will be at the game tonight cheering on the Bucs with my two year old daughter. Should be a great time!

Can somebody give me a brief scouting report on Mandeville strengths and weaknesses?

Good QB, good offense. They throw the ball a good bit. Very good on defense. Very good middle backer and they don't give up a lot of points.

EF hasn't played a defense yet.

Didn't they play Parkview?

yes without beckwith.. .and they scored 39

That was before Parkview tweaked their secondary which has been lockdown since.. ND wont match up very well with EF but they'll play typical ND football, disciplined and physical and probably grind out a close W. Although EF will certainly score more than 14 against them, especially with Becky playing. Should be a good one, I'll be at the PBS game tonight, only game in BR.

I think Mandeville wins this one. QB is only a junior and has gotten better each game this year. Not incredibly accurate, but has a strong, strong arm. Throws the deep ball well, especially out of pocket, and gives receivers a lot of room to run under the ball and make plays. Doesn't make too many mistakes and can beet you with legs too.

RB's are average. Nothing flashy, but pick up good yards are on draw plays.

They have an excellent go-to receiver, who is tall and snags balls out of air. They have another young receiver who is a freshman I believe that catches a lot of short routes underneath.

Defense is there strong suit. Will sometimes give up yards but are great at stepping up on third down. Their middle linebacker in an animal, probably a DI prospect, and is all over field.

They also have a CB who is probably the most instinctive CB I've seen, has a lot of interceptions on year and good punt returner. Both offense and defensive line are pretty good too.

They lost to St. Paul's earlier in year, who I believed tied with Rummel in jamboree. So I would guess Rummel is pretty close in talent.

I think this one comes down to a field goal at end.

Mandeville 24
Rummel 21

St. Paul's was lucky to get Mandeville early in the season. Mandeville controlled the entire game; St. Paul's blocked a FG attempt from inside the 5 yard line as time expired in regulation, and got help from a pick 6 as well. In OT, Mandeville had the ball first, kicked a FG and St. Paul's fooled Mandeville on a play action pass on 1st down on their possession (set it up all game).

Point is, Mandeville was a different team early in the season. St. Paul's regressed while Mandeville improved. They have been picking up a lot of momentum with each victory and haven't lost since that St. Paul's game.

That being said, I think this is a dog fight. Both teams have stout defenses that really allow little room for error on the offensive side of the ball. Both QBs have incredible pocket presence and can find ways to extend plays. In the end, the team with better QB play wins this one, IMO.

It's at Joe Yenni (East Jefferson's stadium). Rummel doesn't have a stadium. But JY is pretty nice. I'd say it holds around 8-10K..turf field..really nice scoreboard, etc.
