Serious Q
Posted by Roi.Trois.Faulk on 11/30/12 at 12:54 am00
How could Swanson be considered the #1 FB when he plays DT? Has he ever played FB?
#1 FB should be a combo of JC Copeland and Jacob Hester.... is he a pass catching threat???
Not sour grapes on the de-committ, honest question

You do know J.C. Copeland was a high school DT too, right?
I'm thinking he camped as a FB and it's a mix of projecting plus camp performance. I've seen about 10 high school games this year in person and I don't know if I saw any team that used a fullback, aside from a wing-T type FB at Catholic. Everybody else was in a spread with one back.
I'm sure it's like that all over. So it would make no sense to limit your FB recruiting to the rare player who actually does get to play FB. It's almost going to have to be a convert.
Isn't LSU looking at the TE from Rummel as a possible FB too? Another example, if so.

I think they are, but all the paysites are saying TE. But the kid has played FB a lot, he just happened to go from 6'1" to 6'4" over the course of the last year.

1. He plays FB as well (as several posters have already said).
2. He is a fullback prospect and a DT player, two completely different things.
