Char Boil Infrared Turkey Fryer Question

Just got one of these and wanted to fry a turkey this weekend. Bought a 20lbs turkey before i read the instructions. Says it can do up to 16lbs. Has anyone ever try to do a turkey this big? Should I halve it?

Have done up to 16, nothing larger. I would think the outside would blacken before it was cooked through-might have to finish in the oven.

Take the legs and wings off.
