It's coming down to the wire for me and this probably the best team I can field at this time. We don't have playoffs. The winner is the person with the highest points at the end of the regular season. I'm trying to hold on to first. 2nd is 48 pts back and 3rd is 62 pts back.

Payout is in the $1000+ area and I'm starting to get nervous. All thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

12 man, non-PPR, standard scoring.

QB: M Ryan
RB1: CJ Spiller
RB2: Jacquizz Rodgers
WR1: AJ Green
WR2: Dez Bryant
TE: Hernandez
K: Tynes
DEF: HOU

BENCH
QB: Freeman
RB: Dwyer, MJD
WR: Vincent Jackson
TE: Greg Olsen, Gronk
DEF: DEN

And I'm on my way back to Shreveport from Dallas, so I'm kinda bored.

Trade Dez while he's hot for a better RB, start Vjax. Profit

Start Dwyer instead of Rodgers.

Why Dwyer? Rodgers faces the Saints and gets a lot more touches than Dwyer.

yeah I have a feeling that Dwyer is gonna get a lot of touches. Reasons are is that Batch will likely start and Tomlin said Dwyer is now the starter and that he wants to stick with one RB now during games instead of using all 3.

Interesting. You'd start him over Rodgers even though they are playing the Ravens?

I'm gonna keep this in mind. Thanks.

I just think Dwyer will have a better opportunity to score a TD than Rodgers. Good luck either way.

yes.

Rodgers might hit a long run tonight for a TD, but if he doesn't then he will only have a 5-8 point game. I like Dwyer to get 10-15 touches at minimum and all goal line ops.

Start Dwyer over Rodgers. Dwyer is the starting back. Unfortunately, he seems cursed when it comes to scoring TD's. He has never scored in his career.

I would also be tempted to start VJax because he is super consistent and Dez has only turned it up recently. I would take the thing closer to guaranteed points in Dez because your only goal is not lose your lead.

One of the reasons I'm having reservations. Dwyer can put up 100+ yard games but cannot find his way into the damn end zone.

Also, how do you see the lack of Big Ben hurting Dwyer's potential points? I'm thinking it'll result in a much heavier run-focused Ravens DEF.

What worries me about that is Champ Bailey and Josh Freeman. Champ is going to be on VJax all day and Freeman showed against a subpar Falcons secondary how inconsistent he can be. The Broncos' DEF is much better than the Falcons.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I feel safer with Dez Bryant vs PHI than VJax vs DEN. Dez did get 14 pts in our league against PHI in week 10.

I know we aren't really arguing. I'm just trying to make myself feel better about my decisions.

I read or heard somewhere recently that Champ and VJax have squared off 7 or 8 times and Jackson is averaging around 40 yards per game. He's also never scored a TD vs Champ

Really? Damn. If thats true, I'll probably stick with Dez.

Matchup is much more favorable.

Back to Dwyer, how do you see Roethlisberger's injury status affecting his value? With Batch probably starting, wouldn't you expect the Ravens to go heavy on the run D?

Here's a related quote:

quote:

As a result, in 12 previous meetings against the Broncos, Jackson does not have a 100-yard receiving game, and since his second year in the league — 2006 — Jackson has been held to 56 yards receiving or less seven times. Jackson also has been held without a touchdown in eight of the past 11 meetings.

It looks like they've faced each other 7 times over the past 4 seasons. VJAX has averaged 47 yards per game and has 1 TD.

this is just my opinion, but I feel that Dwyer is matchup proof if he is fed the ball all game... dude is a load. He will run over any defense as long as the game is close and Pitt attempts to have some type of passing game.

I agree that Dwyer should get the nod over Rodgers.

Damn. That is pretty much a consensus in favor of Dwyer.

Eh, you only live once right?
