247 Rumor Mill Coaching Updates

I will update as concerning the SEC...
*Arky has been turned down several times...Gary Patterson is emerging as the frontrunner but other potential coaches are Butch Jones/Charlie Strong could be contacted after this weekend.
*Al Golden could defintely be a player at Tennessee. PSU Coach Bill O'Brien also in play. Mike Gundy is rumored to have expressed interest.
*Charlie Strong was very angered about rumor of him talking to AU. Very adamant that he has not.
Several other updates but none apply to the SEC...If anyone is interested I can summarize the other teams mentioned as well...

The whole blurb said we were swinging for the fences, Chris Petersen and Les Miles, and now are focusing on Patterson as the front runner. I still call that swinging for the fences personally and see us hiring a Strong or Jones in the end.

*Skip Holtz is in jeopardy at USF
*Mark Mangino name is coming up a lot at Colorado
*Dykes, Chavis, Chad Morris are all candidates at NC State
*Mark Stoops could take several coaches from FSU with him
*UCF could open soon
*Eddie Gran could become a candidate at Southern Miss. Blake Anderson is the early leader
*Bidding war fro Ellis Johnson is expected. One of the best defensive minds in the business.

It will take a lot to get Patterson
He has it made at TCU and can live off that Rose Bowl deal for a decade
Plus, TCU has the built in Texas recruiting advantage - does not have to leave the state

We've had a friggin year to do what? Hire a permanent coach?? Get fricking real man. CBP wrecked on April 1st. No doubt JLS was a shite-show but what exactly were our options? Were we going to hire someone during summer camp? Mid season? OR, and i say OR, could we wait this shitty season out and then make our decision? That way we're not pissing anyone off and ruining any regular season/championship games. I'm sure Long as been doing work, background checks, talking to industry peeps, but he's not going to hire anyone until he's had a chance to sit down with them. And, given the timing, he hasn't had that oppty yet.
