Another example of a lack of discipline in Miles program. He is everyone's best friend and not feared. As a father figure your players need to fear as well as respect you

Nobody said that Mathieu has to walk in a start from day 1.

But he at least has to have the ability to compete for a roster spot. What if he shows up for the combine chubby and runs a 4.7? Do you still take him based on plays that he made 16 months before?

All I'm saying is that it's not automatic that he will be the same guy he was before he got busted. When he was on the team there were immediate benefits and consequences for choosing to stay in shape or not. Now he's completely on his own.

Is he hanging around losers that have nothing going for them or is he actually disciplined enough to work out as if he was still playing? Who knows?

No clue. My best guess would be a high 4.5 based on his play, but that's pure speculation.

Hope he is smart enough to be clean for the combine... Despite everything I hope everything works out for him.

Somewhere in the 4.5 range is probably about right. But I think we all know his straight line speed isn't what made him great. At the combine they will be more interested in his shuttle times.

For DBs, being able to accelerate and cover a short distances quickly is more important than just pure straight line speed.

I'll hit you double time on this one.

Lets talk Pac Man Jones.

was not kicked out of WVU, but he had a few run ins with the law while there. He had plenty of character concerns going into the draft. He was taken 6th, yes 6th, overall, 1st round.

Since then he has gotten in more trouble. He has missed 2 full seasons, 2007 & 2009. He didn't play a down in either season. Yet he is still able to play in the NFL. That's not even the biggest thing. The biggest thing is he keeps getting signed on. Talented players are hard to find.

Good luck to him. I just hope he doesn't mess this up too. At least he could go pro after getting kicked off the college team, but if he gets kicked off a pro team, he'll have nowhere to go.

Well, actually, there's Canada I guess.

All im saying is that there are plenty of players that are continuously resigned every year even though these players have had twice the amount of problems that TM has.

Character is an issue but there is no way every team passes up on him.... Somebody said earlier that with the pass heavy league there is a need for a solid nickleback which i can see him being

the precedent has already been set. Janorice Jenkins. went second round to the Rams and his contract had quite a few clauses to protect the Rams. I would expect a 4th ot 5th round pick and if he makes the team, it will be with a similar contract.

Too small to short for the position he plays in the NFL. But I hope he does well and I am wrong.
