The UL thing has nothing to do with LSU, but of course the go to response here is "penis envy" for everything. But hey, 5 losses in a row, guess you gotta get your jollies somehow.

I was going to go with sand in your vagina about LSU, but you've been running with the p envy term lately. Not sure why you're so satisfied with 5 in a row over the lowly 'Hawks since you guys are so "big time." Affliction shirts for airbody!!

wrong. enrollment isn't that far behind schools like Ole Miss or MSU. It's bigger than Tulane who is in CUSA.

Ole Miss and MSU are about as small as it gets for public schools in major conferences. It's apples and oranges to compare to Tulane, which is an exclusive private school.

It is for a regional college. Major conferences are entirely made up of large, state universities who draw students from all over their states. Sprinkle in some big-money private schools with long histories in athletics and these are your BCS leagues.

ULL is a commuter school serving a small market. If you were a commuter school in a major market, you'd have a chance to perhaps become a Central Florida or South Florida or what Georgia State and UTSA are trying to be. You simply don't have a market for it, nor does Louisiana have a market for two flagship schools.

Since 1982 no football school has voluntarily moved from 1A to 1AA.

To clarify your point further, the entire Southland Conference dropped to I-AA in 1982. USL opted to drop out of the Southland and play as a I-A independent.

So yeah, there were drop downs in 82. But I do think you are correct in saying there have not been drop downs since then.

Not sure what you are referencing, nor do I care, but it's interesting to see ULL's delusions about itself. US News did a list of the 10 schools with the highest percentage of freshmen who commute from off campus. In other words, they opted to stay home to go to college, and drive to school from mom and dad's house, for the most part. Here's the list:

LINK

What does that tell you?

ULL IS A COMMUTER COLLEGE.

Is what it is, brah.

As somebody who went to another commuter college very much like ULL, there's no shame in it. There is shame when you try to deny it and make it out to be something it isn't.

Envy of ULL's spot in the ten biggest commuter colleges? Dude, I didn't make that list. And no, my alma mater is not on that list, so maybe I should envy ULL for being on it

It is funny though that you bring up penis envy of USL on a thread that's primarily about how ULL's administration has no balls.

Dear God I hate LSU fans (this encompasses Ulm fans). Most of them believe they have new car scent air freshners in their shite. You guys think that Tech and ULL fans are delusional for not wanting to settle for mediocrity and we are just "crazy" for not being LSU fans. Let me apologize for not being the typical Louisiana citizen who didn't go to college and can't make decisions for myself because I'm incompetent. I'll make sure to drive to my local Wal-mart and purchase some LSU apparel so I can fit in and I'm not considered delusional. Btw I hope ULL gets an invite and I believe they will.

Hud sure sounded pissed in that interview. : (

And he should be.

Despite the weird obsession with all things UL in this thread from people whom you wonder why they even care, we have a lot to offer ... a program on the rise that does need an infusion of funding, boosters with oil money, a great city--Lafayette has so much more culture and is so much more cosmopolitan than Baton Rouge, it ain't even funny.

Isn't Savoie supposed to be pro-athletics? Tulane people look at the Big East thing as a bolt out of the blue that was their last lifeline--they feel Scott Cowen has been trying to destroy Tulane football and they want to ride Rick Dickson out on a rail. Surely we didn't get caught off-guard by the SBC's implosion.

We'd be a great fit and an asset to the new CUSA. Surely our administration is not sitting around with their thumbs up their butts. I will admit, even just walking into Martin Hall, you can almost feel the "Huey-Edwin" good-ole-boy" aura in the atmosphere.

I'm sure you will turn this into an attack against me, but I'll tell you anyway.

1)You are not what you think you are.

The Cajuns sell corporate packages for season tickets. Translation: you can buy a Cajun season ticket package for less than the price of admission to a LSU/Towson State game. How the hell can you make it in today's college football when you generate less than $10 in ticket revenue for every person in attendance? Think about this. While the rest of the college football world is collecting extortion fees on every seat sold, the Cajuns are allowing 1 RCAF donation for every 5 seats sold in their corporate package.

The problem the Cajun administration faces is simple to understand. Their fan base wants to live a champagne lifestyle on a malt liquor budget.

I'll offer more ideas later, when I have more time.

It's a LSU fan forum. Be smart enough to understand LSU fans commenting on a subject offered to us by a Cajun fan is not " a weird obsession".

Your understanding of our thinking is delusional. You may not want to settle for mediocre, but you sure as hell don't want to pay for the costs of sustaining the levels you dream of.
