I'll add it to the OP. Gayle Benson was speaking on the pregame show and outright stated that those were the new colors. Jenn Hale had asked about name information and Gayle said she couldn't give that up, but the new colors are red, gold, and navy.

Most of the recent information is converging to Pelicans being announced at the end of this season to take effect next season as the goal of the Bensons. We'll see if the NBA allows it.

I just couldn't get behind Angels (Saints little brother, much?) or Spirit (already been done in ABA, pretty bad) and Krewe and Knights sound pretty WNBA. If it's any of those I'd rather Hornets (which really isn't a bad name at all)

Doesn't surprise me. That is not the way a professional team or league makes an announcement like it. It was really almost said in passing. I don't think she was supposed to say it.
