I have kayaked with dolphins before and that got my heart to racing. With those whales I would prolly sound like that girl.

Done it. When they go under your kayak, you hold your breath and pray that the 44 degree weather will not be your acquaintance for a while, but it's awesome. Sea Lions are more scary than whales.

If you ever get to SE Ak, take a whale watching trip, or hell...look me up.

Done it! Awesome trip. We went out about 2 hours north of Seattle during salmon spawn (though there are residents) off San Juan Islands.

Pretty awesome experience.

We follow the marine radio and listen to the whale boat captains to find out where the hot spots are.

In many ways, better. I know most wouldn't agree, but it's one hell of an experience.
