Looking at Eotechs... any other suggestions, or specific Eotech suggestions?

I'm not a major fan of the circle+dot, i think i just want a solo dot.

and does anyone know if trijicon makes a red dot / non-magnified?

any/all suggestions on any scopes warmly appreciated.

I think all EOtechs have the circle and dot but I very well could be wrong. The one I have definately does.

This.

The H-1 (all you need) and the T-1 (night vision capable) are "the best."

The Eotechs (512, 552) are heavy -- I'll sell you one if you can live with the "circle & dot." The Aimpoint Micro wighs about 1/3 - 1/4 of what the Eotech weighs, with batteries.

Check out this video. It was made as a promo for Daniel Defense -- it turned out to be a promo for Aimpoint. Aimpoint TortureTest

i'll take that to heart. appreciate that. i mean... i wonder how relevant weight is anyway... damn rifle is pretty heavy out of the box. (colt 6920 model) i didn't buy it to replace every part to make it lighter.

the main things i care about with the red dot sight is that it's a single dot, that it's high quality, and that it doesn't have huge side pieces that will obstruct peripheral view on left or right side of scope. (i'm right handed but i shoot lefty because my right eye is awful)

i'd like to be able to shoot and switch targets fast from left to right. you know... in case 4 deer in a row are all next to each other. *cough*

i'm talking about the weight of the scope. it can't matter THAT much could it?

sure, i'd like the gun to be a pound or so lighter, but i mean in terms of performance or other factors, i wouldn't have worried that much. gotta deal with a heavy weight either way i guess is all i meant. :)

Weight matters if you're on foot over long distances.

PSA has the Aimpoint Patrol (PRO), which is a very good RDS, for $399 and you get a Magpul flip up rear sight which is worth about $50-60.

I ordered one for a Mak 90. I'll probably keep the magpul as a spare.

i need to get that magpul flip up rear sight for sure. does that rear one go in tandem with the front iron-sight that comes stock?
