Got a question for the OT geniuses. I got a 2007 Ford F 250 Lariat, loaded with just over 100K miles. It has every option with the exception of the King Ranch Leather...Got powered moonroof, leather, power rear window, FX4, Ranch hand bumpers front and back...

Here is my dilemma...I am trying to decide if I want to trade it in or sell it outright.

If I trade it in, what is the website that the car dealers go to for valuing the vehicle. If selling outright, what website for valuing that as well.

Oh, and the obligatory, STFU, GTFO, and PIIHB!

You will in all likelyhood get better selling it outright however if you do that I don't think you can transfer your tag.

Also, I really don't like that hassle of dealing with individuals when trying to sell something...

You're biggest problem will be since it's a 6.0 a dealer trade in will low ball the shite out of you because they know it'll take a while to sell it. On the other hand any semi educated buyer would also low ball the shite out of you because they know it's a 6.0 which has a bad rep. KBB list it at about $22,000 private party and about $18,000 trade it. Don't be surprised to get an offer of around $15,000 or less on a trade.

Selling it outright you will prolly get a better price for it.

Selling it to a dealer you will save the amount of money you sell it for in Sales tax on the new vehicle.

Example, dealer offers you 9k. That would knock off around 900 bucks in sales tax on the new vehicle. So you would have to sell it yourself for 10k+ to make it worth it.

I just put it in on Kelley blue book and for trade in you should be able to get around $18,000 (assuming in good condition) and around $22,000 if you were to just slap a for sale sign on it.

These are only obligatory on the OT, not the OB.

I have experience buying and selling 6.0's. You can take that number and cut 1/3 off of it and cross your fingers to get it. They are hard as hell to sell until you get way down on price. Good luck.
