LSU vs Seton Hall - TONIGHT 8:30PM - PMAC - TV:ESPNU

LSU (4-0) takes on their biggest test of the season when the Seton Hall Pirates (5-1) come to the PMAC. The game is scheduled for ESPNU at 8:30pm as part of the annual SEC/Big East challenge. The Pirates bring more length than any other team has brought to the PMAC this season. While the lineups have changed throughout the young season, the projected lineup has 4 players over the size of 6’6” starting. LSU fans will see the type of lineup Johnny Jones is planning on building into the future; big, athletic men who can play multiple roles.
LSU is coming off a victory over Mississippi Valley State in which the Tigers shot a remarkable 70% in the second half. Seton Hall comes to the PMAC on their first true road game (2 neutral site games) after a 76-61 victory over St. Peter’s. Seton Hall will attempt to body up down low where they have a size advantage. LSU will try to contain the Seton Hall post attack while competing down low on their end as well. A major matchup to watch will be LSU’s Shavon Coleman, the 6’5” forward vs Seton Hall’s larger forwards. Seton Hall will use 6’6” players at the 4 position occasionally, which will help Coleman.
**Due to the injury of 6'9" Auda, Seton Hall will be much smaller at the 4 position.
Seton Hall’s main height advantage comes from their guard positions where they start two players at 6’6”. Look for Morgan/Carmouche (6’4”) and Shane Hammink (6’7”) to play a significant role in stopping their big guards. I am interested to see how much playing time Andre Stringer (5’9”) gets with the size Seton Hall brings to the PMAC. LSU will need more production out of Eddie Ludwig than his 6 minutes, 0 points performance against Miss Valley St and would love to get some production out of Andrew Del Piero who is averaging 4.75 points per game.

First off we need to get drinks soon 
Back on topic, Ill be there Thursday as usual. Once we get to teams like this that are bigger across the board, if JOB gets in foul trouble early we just cant win barring some insane shooting performances. Eddie's feet arent quick enough,Del Piero has obviously exceeded anybodys expectations though, and even with Coleman surprising most we just dont have the man power if Johnny has to sit out long. Absolutely love the way we are gelling, just wish we had another solid big who could bang down low for 10-15 minutes a game.

Would hate to see Ludwig get the start over ADP....I know it's far fetched, but after seeing Saturdays game, I don't think anyone would have a problem with it.

I think ADP will get some minutes, but I think people are still a little too high on ADP and too low on Eddie. Ludwig will probably get the start while Coleman will get the lions share of the minutes at the 4. ADP could come in at 5 but not while Eddie is in. That would be a pretty miserable front court. I could see some ADP/Coleman time or even some ADP/JOB time.
I think ADP only gets 10 minutes at most. He struggles against big men with any kind of quickness. He got lucky that Miss Valley put their 7 footer against him. If they played a smaller guy with quickness they coulda gotten him in some serious foul trouble.
You have to take ADP off the dribble to get him in foul trouble.

I have been formulating a rating system to determine how much of an impact a player has on a game.
Ill probably make it's own thread later in the day. I have an adjusted and unadjusted SoS rating that takes into account many stats that help show impact... Using the adjusted (for time played) rating, ADP has been the "adj SoS player of the game" twice, which obviously leads the team.
Adjusted:
ADP - 2
JOB - 1
Hickey - 1
Unadjusted:
Hickey - 2
Coleman - 2
It's pretty interesting. Im excited to unveil it soon.

Ast: started at 2.3 assuming an ast leads to either a 2pt or a 3pt basket, but added the .2 for the assists that are not counted due to players being fouled after a great pass.
Reb: Used 1.8 to give rebounds ~ the same value as points. We average ~85 pts and ~ 45 rebs which would be 1.88 but gave it a little less weight
stl: Decided that it led to points more often than not but also added a bonus for momentum
blk: This one is given aprox 1.5 pts for change of possession / not allowing points, but also 1.5 pts for momentum
to: losses a possession, plus a better chance of giving up points on fast break
The /min * 40 gives each player the same base time of a full game. the unadjusted SoS is only different because it doesn't have this part.

I will try to find that other thread later but I would suggest adding chargers in there. It is a severely overlooked stat even though it is a forced turnover, player foul, and team foul. And im saying this while not even being a big ludwig fan

Obviously there are plenty more stats, that if I was being paid to do this I would love to add. Charges arent an easily accessible stat. All these things come straight off the official boxscore. I already keep spreadsheets of all this information and I have to auto update each game after I input the stats.
Charges are one of my favorite stats. I love that Eddie already has 5 charges taken on the season! I think it is the most overlooked stat in basketball, but unfortunately I dont have a great way of tracking this one cause it isn't kept on official boxscores.

I hope to see the same thing. I am worried what happens if Johnny continues to get into foul trouble. They have lots of big players and they are their scorers. We need to have people to play defense on them.
