Arkansas HAS NOT offered CLM the position

A report from the website SportsByBrooks.com first reported a 5-year deal was on the table for Miles to become the head coach of the Razorbacks.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune claims they can confirm the information is true. According to Jim Kleinpeter, Miles has been offered 5-years and $27.5 million.
LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette told the Times-Picayune tonight, "It's been brought to Les' attention and he didn't have anything to say."
I can confirm, however, that Miles has not been offered the job, nor has he been approached by Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long.
Long expects to name a coach within the next 8-12 days.

Statement I would make if I were Joe Alleva to Les Miles and his agent:
"Sean Payton is looking for a Job and would be agreat fit at LSU. We talked to Don Yee and for the right investment, we have began negotiations. Giving him 7 mill would solidify us and keeping Chavis and firing Studd and Krags could supplement this increase above yours." "HAVE A GREAT DAY!" AND ...

Nobody is offered a job like this until there's an understanding reached thru intermediaries. If they don't reach an informal agreement, there's never an offer. That way there's deniability on both sides. Nothing in the AD's statement precludes that negotiations may be underway. Not saying there are or aren't, just that this disclaimer doesn't mean anything.

Schools only "offer" the job once the coach has accepted. Looks too bad to be turned down.

The title should really read "Breaking: More conflicting information." There's really no reason to think this guy's sources are better than the other beat writers'.
