The calls will be made in this order:
1. Nick Saban
2. Urban Meyer
3. Will Muschamp
4. David Shaw

The first three will be really long shots, so I expect Shaw to be the front-runner.

Besides money, what would be the motivation for Saban/Meyer/Muschamp leaving their current jobs for Texas? Just don't see it happening...

I could see Saban and Muschamp. I don't think Meyer or Shaw would fit in there.
Call me crazy but I think they would entertain the idea of Petrino.

I guarantee you he stays one more season just to get Chizik named "Coach in Waiting".

Chicken, looking at this list all the coaches seem to be in better coaching positions currently. I agree of this list Shaw seems to be the one that may jump but not to UT but maybe the nfl.
I remember hearing some chatter about Saban to UT but not with possibly winning 3 of the last 4 BCS titles.

If say Saban winning a NC at yet another stop would make him feel good about himself...which he likes.

I could see Muschamp because of his familiarity with the University, their ability to pay, and a free ride to the NC...unlike what he got dealt this year in the SEC.

I think Mack is getting beaten down by a portion of the fanbase and might be tired enough to hang it up after this season...I heard that he has a nice gig in the broadcast booth lined up after he retires.

winning a title at three different schools may not ever be achieved again if he could do it.

I don't see any of them happening, to be honest. First of all, Saban has about 5 years left, he's not going to spend one of those years rebuilding another team. Meyer is in his first year at his dream job. If Brown leaves next year, then I think Meyer would be in play. Same goes for Will Muschamp. Shaw is interesting. I see him staying at Stanford until an NFL team comes calling. Not that I really know anything, but that's just how I see it

So no chance they will throw the $ at Miles?

I think Les Miles would be considered. I'm a huge shaw guy but I only see him moving to the NFL. I think he's a Stanford alum

was told "no" in regards to Patterson...Peterson may be a fall back option but Shaw higher on the list.

The feeling is that Gundy will not leave OSU (Pickens will make sure he is well compensated).

Outside of Tuberville from Ole Miss to Auburn, you don't see head coaches move from job to job within the same conference.

First off:

All hail the mighty Godfather, The Creator, The President, the one and only Chicken!!

Second, I think that Urban stays at Ohio State and Saban at Alabama.

Exactly, what do you have to support this claim other than just pulling something out of your ***?

Having said that, I'd love for it to be Shaw, but I think it will be damn hard to pry him away from his alma mater. Honestly, if the situation arose, I don't think any of the top 3 are contacted. Of course, there are always agents putting out feelers and vica versa, but that would be it. If it just came down to money, Texas could get whomever they wanted.

We're getting really good at this then, if you count Petrino from Arky

And Gerry DiNardo did it back in the 90s

It would be great to see the epic meltdown of the gumps though if Saban was to leave, especially if he came back to LSU.

Will NEVER happen. Why would Saban go back to LSU? I learned today that LSU is a stepping stone not only to Alabama but to Arkansas.

I think if anyone was to go to Texas it would be a younger guy.

Texas is not a rebuilding project...with the right coach, UT could win a title in the next 2-3 years.

I agree...don't see that happening...but he had expressed interest in the UT job after he initially left Florida. If Tressel doesn't royally eff up at Ohio State, Urban is probably coaching UT next season.

UT may make Shaw an offer he can't refuse.
