I know whenever some of the Pac-12 fans (and other fans) on this board saw Maynard continue to start, we said that there had to be something up with Allen threatening to quit or something if Maynard was ever benched. Well this was a pretty interesting thread that falls in line with what everyone thought might be happening. LINK

...and I got permission from that parent to post this, though of course I can't confirm whether that poster really is a parent of a player or not.

I also blacked out a few sentences about a player who will be on our team next year.

The 2nd black bar is about Allen and weightlifting. I don't know why I blacked that out.

**EDIT: The parent has since PM'd me photographic proof of being a parent of a Cal player.

Allen tried to get Saban to take on Maynard as well, but saban didn't want that trash on his team.

i believe this story 100% considering how Allen's recruitment went.

As terrible as Maynard is, I think Bridgford is even worse

Simple lesson: there is no player that is indispensible or above the team.

Don't think Robert Nkemdiche will be any different when he gets in college. He tried to get his entire high school team scholarships.

Sounds like Tedford lost control. Once you have a divided locker room, it's hard to get 'em back.

In retrospect, I think Allen regrets his decision to not go to Bama, Just listen to the 5:30 mark of this video. LINK The kid says if he had to do it all over again, he would rather play on defense than offense.

This is true. Allen was committed for months to Alabama, before Turner Gill left Buffalo and Maynard was looking to transfer to be with his bother. Alabama wouldn't take him. Then they tried Clemson. Cal agreed. All the while Allen stayed committed, holding Alabama hostage. He signed with Cal on NSD. His family and handlers wouldn't let any Alabama reporters into the restaurant where they were holding the signing. No explanation for their decision.
